Survivor Pool - Final Round

Andola18 April 26, 2013 User blog:Andola18

This is it. Only 18 castaways remain of the original 396. Only one can be the ultimate Survivor.

In case you haven't read rounds 1, 2, 3, or 4, here they are:

The eighteen castaways will be divided into three tribes. There will be two tribal swaps, and four Immunity Idols throughout the course of the game. Tie votes go to a tiebreaker, and then a purple rock. If there is a tie in the final four, a fire-making challenge commences.

The final eighteen castaways were split up into three tribes: Maug, Rota, and Tinian. At Maug, Andrew, Jerri, Sandra, and Terry formed an alliance, excluding John and Candice. John knew he was on the outs, and searched for an immunity idol immediately. He found one, and no one else knew about it. At Rota, two opposing alliances of three formed. Holly, Rob, and Cirie made up one alliance while Danielle, Erik, and Malcolm made up the other. Finally, at Tinian, Corinne and Marcus immediately rekindled their alliance. Parvati, Darrah, and Rupert teamed up as well, leaving Lex on the outside. Maug lost the first immunity challenge, and John knew the large alliance would target him for being a large threat. He played his idol, negating the four votes against him and shocking Andrew, Jerri, Sandra, and Terry. After the votes were read, Candice and John's votes for Sandra were revealed, and Sandra was sent home 2-0.

Votes - Sandra: 2, John: 0 (4 negated by Immunity Idol)

Rob and Cirie knew that they needed something to take control of the game. They searched for an immunity idol in the woods, and while looking in a tree, Rob found one. He told Cirie and Holly about it, and they were ecstatic. It came just in time, too, as Rota lost the immunity challenge. Rob and Cirie told Holly to pretend she was leaving them to avoid a tie, and to find out who Malcolm, Erik, and Danielle were voting for. She found out they were gunning for Rob. At tribal council, Rob played his idol after the votes, and Erik, Danielle, and Malcolm angrily looked at Holly. After the three votes for Rob were discounted, Malcolm was eliminated by Holly, Cirie, and Rob's three votes, in a 3-0 vote.

Votes - Malcolm: 3, Rob: 0 (3 negated by Immunity Idol)

Maug lost the third immunity challenge, and this time, John did not have an idol to save him. Jerri, Terry, and Andrew still had the majority, and John was voted off 3-2.

Votes - John: 3, Jerri: 2

A shocking tribal swap occurred, dissolving the Maug tribe and dividing the new tribes by gender. The women went to Rota, and the men went to Tinian. At Rota, Parvati, Cirie, Holly, Jerri, and Danielle formed a power alliance over Candice, Corinne, and Darrah. Darrah felt betrayed by Parvati. At Tinian, the older men, Terry, Rob, Rupert, Lex, and Andrew allied against the younger guys, Erik and Marcus. The women won the first immunity challenge, and the men eliminated Erik in a 5-2 vote.

Votes - Erik: 5, Lex: 2

The women won immunity once again. The majority male alliance voted off the only opposition, Marcus, in an easy 5-1 vote.

Votes - Marcus: 5, Rupert: 1

The men finally won an immunity challenge, and the majority women's alliance had to choose between Candice, Corinne, and Darrah. Parvati felt that Darrah would be out to get her, and talked the alliance into eliminating her. She was voted off 5-3.

Votes - Darrah: 5, Cirie: 3

With twelve contestants left, the tribes were once again split in three, with no regards to gender. Maug now contained Candice, Cirie, Danielle, and Lex. Rota was comprised of Holly, Parvati, Rob, and Rupert while Tinian had Andrew, Corinne, Jerri, and Terry. At the Tinian camp, Corinne found an immunity idol while climbing a tree for coconuts. She told Andrew and Terry about it to win over their trust. Rota lost immunity, and Rob and Rupert were much tighter than Parvati and Holly. Parvati tried to form a Heroes vs Villains alliance with them, while Holly tried to form an older alliance. Rupert liked Holly better, and Rob didn't trust Parvati. She was eliminated 3-1, and made the first juror.

Votes - Parvati: 3, Holly: 1

Tinian lost the next immunity challenge, and Corinne felt relieved about her standing with Terry and Andrew. They voted with her to oust Jerri 3-1.

Votes - Jerri: 3, Corinne: 1

Maug, Rota, and Tinian merged into the new Saipan tribe. The women who were isolated on Rota, Candice and Corinne, immediately allied with the men. Holly formed a tight bond with Rob and Rupert, and since she voted Parvati out, also allied with the men. This left Cirie and Danielle on the outside looking in. Lex won the first immunity challenge, and Cirie was voted off 8-2.

Votes - Cirie: 8, Terry: 2

Holly surprisingly won the immunity challenge. Danielle's fate was sealed, and she was sent to the jury in a unanimous 8-1 vote.

Votes - Danielle: 8, Rob: 1

Five men and three women remained. Lex wanted the men to go all the way to the end together, but Rupert and Rob felt close to Holly, and Terry and Andrew knew about Corinne's idol and wanted to keep her around in case they needed it. So, the two trios decided to concoct a plan to blindside Lex. Holly won her second immunity challenge in a row, and the seven Saipan members voted for Lex, blindsiding him 7-1.

Votes - Lex: 7, Candice: 1

With seven people remaining, there was a clear division between the Saipan tribe. Andrew, Terry, and Corinne were on one side, with Holly, Rob, and Rupert on the other. Candice was the swing vote between the two groups. Andrew won immunity, and he, Terry, and Corinne devised a plan to get Candice on their side. They showed her Corinne's idol and guaranteed her a final four spot. She voted with them to eliminated Holly in a 4-3 vote.

Votes - Holly: 4, Terry: 3

Rob won immunity, saving his skin for the time being. Rupert was the only person without immunity that was not in the Final Four alliance. He was promptly voted off 4-2.

Votes - Rupert: 4, Andrew: 2

Candice found an immunity idol, and the upcoming tribal council was the only time she could play it. She didn't tell anyone about it because she didn't really need to. Terry won the immunity challenge, and Candice realized that she would come in fourth place if she stuck with Corinne, Andrew, and Terry in voting out Rob. She decided to make a bold move and give Rob her idol, telling him to vote for Andrew at tribal council. Rob voted for Andrew, with Candice, while the other three voted for Rob. Corinne played her immunity idol, and the other three were shocked when Rob stood up to play his. After the three Rob votes were read, the two votes for Andrew were revealed. Corinne and Terry realized Candice flipped on them, and Andrew was sent to the jury 2-0.

Votes - Andrew: 2, Rob: 0 (3 negated by Immunity Idol)

Corinne won individual immunity, and Candice knew it would be smarter to go back with Corinne and Terry and vote off Rob. She approached them, and they accepted, since it would propel both to the final three. Rob expected a tie, but was surprised when he was made the last jury member in a 3-1 vote.

Votes - Rob: 3, Terry: 1

At the final tribal council, the jury was either blasting Candice or praising Candice. Almost all of the focus was directed on her, while Terry and Corinne were mostly ignored. Andrew blasted her for ruining his game because of greed. Rob told her that she was a deceiving liar, but respected her game. Rupert and Holly were upset with her because she did not side with them at the final seven. The rest of the jury was supportive of her strong, manipulative gameplay and cunning strategic moves. She was granted the title of Sole Survivor in a 6-2-1 jury vote.

First off, congratulations to Candice Woodcock for being the ultimate Survivor! Thanks to everyone who read my pools. They took some work, but I had fun doing it. Now I want your thoughts. How did you guys like the pool setup? Did you like the summaries? What would you change? What twists would you add? Did you like the contestants that moved on? What should be some of the considerations of how contestants move forward? How should I determine who wins challenges? The answers to all of these questions will help greatly in my next pool, which will begin after I finish watching Panama. After I finish that, I will have seen every season and will be able to get a more accurate reading of everyone's relationships. Once again, thanks for reading and comment below with your thoughts!
