Tom Swartz

Tom Swartz is the Sole Survivor of Survivor South Africa: Philippines.

In Philippines, Tom's conduct divided his fellow castaways, who alternately derided him for his uncouth mannerisms and praised him for his work ethic at camp. After clawing his way to the merge, Tom integrated himself into the ruling Luzon Alliance and was content with his trajectory to follow Werner Joubert into a losing position at the final three. However, he and Jeanne Michel took advantage of Werner being vulnerable at the final four to vote him out, and the pair found themselves in the Final Two. At Final Tribal Council, Tom was chastised for being a coattail rider and for his subpar social game. However, the jury respected his forthcoming nature far more than Jeanne's lackadaisical gameplay and awarded him the title of Sole Survivor.

This what-you-see-is-what-you-get family man has loads of experience when it comes to literal "survival" skills. As an adventure camp manager, Tom builds shelters in the wild for a living and sees himself as the natural provider for his tribe. His skills include fishing, hunting, building shelter and making fire, but how will he fair in the social game? Tom is a self-proclaimed loud mouth who loves the sound of his own voice. Not scared of confrontation, could this be his downfall in such a socially delicate game?^[1]
