The Great Lie is the eleventh episode of Survivor: Pearl Islands.
Prior to the beginning of the Reward Challenge, Jon Dalton's loved one, his best friend Dan "Thunder D", surprised him with the shocking news that his grandmother had passed away during his time on the island. This led to the rest of the tribe allowing Jon to win the Reward Challenge and learn more about his grandmother. Once Jon and Dan were alone, it was revealed the entire lie was staged. Jon later used this lie to leverage votes in the oncoming days. During the final episode, Jon's grandmother, Jean, was interviewed and revealed she did not know about the plan until she saw it on live television.

| VOTED OFF:|
|“||(voting for Burton) Burton, I'm voting for you only because you're the biggest threat we have right now.||”|
|“||(voting for Tijuana) T, I know it's your birthday tomorrow, and I don't think one of us is going to be here to see it.||”|
|“||(voting for Burton) Burton, I heard you and Jon talking and you had a lot of differences in what you were telling us versus what you told Jon.||”|
|“||Well, it looks like, um, I think I tried to make some decisions in this game and to try to make things work to my advantage and take that leadership role, I think, cost me the game. And, for the rest of the tribe members in the game, I have no animosity to any of them. Um, I've made it to the jury. I'm proud of myself. So, with that being said, peace.||”|
