Stacked Up is a recurring challenge involving dexterity that originated in Survivor: Kaôh Rōng and has since reappeared in Ghost Island and Survivor 45.

Rules[]

While standing on a wobbly balance beam, castaways must attempt to stack six sets of balls between sets of stands using a fork. The first person to finish their stack and return to their table without the stack falling over wins.

In Ghost Island, the castaways had to completely start over if their stack fell.

History[]

United States[]

The challenge first appeared in Kaôh Rōng as the Dexterity option in the first Immunity Challenge, Wooden Ships. However, none of the tribes opted for the task. It later made its formal debut as the final challenge of the season, where it was used as a Reward Challenge. In a race between Aubry Bracco and Michele Fitzgerald to place their final ball, Aubry's stack fell, allowing Michele to win the Juror Removal advantage.

In Ghost Island, the challenge appeared as the Final Immunity Challenge. As Wendell Holland was about to place his final ball, his stack fell, giving Angela Perkins the lead before her stack fell as well. This allowed Domenick Abbate to catch up and eventually win the final immunity.

In Survivor 45, the challenge made its second appearance as the Final Immunity Challenge, where the rules were amended so that seventeen discs were required to be stacked and the wobbly balance beam was replaced with a series of ropes that castaways were required to walk over. Austin Li Coon and Jake O'Kane built early leads in the challenge, but their stacks fell midway through. Jake's frustration with his stack falling and his feeling of the pressure of Dee Valladares to getting close to end caused him to walk on the ropes, causing a rope supporter from a pole to snap, resulting in him getting disqualified from the challenge and allowing Dee to eventually win immunity.

Australia[]

The challenge was used as the final seven Reward Challenge in Heroes v Villains, where the members of Fa'amolemole had to stack trapezoid pieces instead of stands and balls. Windy conditions reset the playing field multiple times, causing frustration amongst the castaways. In the end, Liz Parnov was the first to stack her eighth piece, winning a spa day that she shared with George Mladenov and Nina Twine.

The challenge appeared as an Immunity Challenge at the final six of Titans v Rebels, where the castaways had to negotiate a trip obstacle as they stacked the trapezoid pieces. Kirby Bentley desperately raced for immunity and even employed an unorthodox strategy of knocking over unstable blocks to replace them with sturdier blocks. While this allowed Mark Warnock to surge into the lead, his tower ultimately toppled at the eleventh hour, reopening the door for Kirby to win her second consecutive Immunity Challenge.

France[]

South Africa[]

In Island of Secrets, the challenge was combined with the mechanics of Carry On and used for immunity and reward. Only the first-place team would both immunity and reward, while the second team to finish would take the reward that the winning team did not choose. Rocco van Rooyen helped Laumei win immunity, while Jacques Burger won Ta'alo fishing gear, which Laumei left behind for live chickens.
