Template:Tribedarkcolor Sook Jai (สุขใจ) was a tribe from Survivor: Thailand.

Sook Jai were physically stronger and younger than their rival Chuay Gahn tribe. However, the season's general lack of physical challenges resulted in successive eliminations. It is one of very few tribes to enter a merge with three people remaining. Their tribe color was purple.

Tribe Camp

The upside of the Sook Jai tribe camp was that their water source was located very close to the camp. The downside was that the tribe had to work to build a shelter to keep them dry, which the tribe struggled to accomplish. It was for this reason that the Sook Jai camp was judged as the "lesser" of the two tribe camps, and the Sook Jai tribe members eventually went to live at the opposing Chuay Gahn tribe's beach.

Trivia

  • Sook Jai was the the first purple tribe in Survivor.
  • Sook Jai and Chuay Gahn were the first tribes to have an equal number of challenge wins coming in to the merge, with both tribes winning six each. Although it performed as well as Chuay Gahn in challenges, Sook Jai had won more Reward Challenges than Chuay Gahn, and thus lost more immunity challenges, leading to their ultimate demise.
  • Sook Jai is the second tribe in Survivor history to enter the merge with only three members.
  • Seven contestants from Sook Jai were voted out in a row; this is the most contestants that have been voted out in a row from the same original tribe. The previous record holder was Pagong of Survivor: Borneo, with six in a row.
    • The Ulong tribe of Survivor: Palau lost seven consecutive Immunity Challenges, but there was a double Tribal Council during their losing streak.
    • While eight straight members of Rarotonga were eliminated consecutively in Survivor: Cook Islands, only the last four of them were original members of the tribe; the first four had joined the tribe as part of a tribe switch.
    • This record was tied in Survivor: Samoa, when seven members of the Galu tribe were voted out in a row following the merge. Coincidentally, both tribes have purple as their starting tribe color.
