Shawna Mitchell is a contestant from Survivor: The Amazon.

Shawna is remembered for being part of the "beautiful young women threesome of the Amazon" along with Jenna Morasca and Heidi Strobel, also for being the first contestant to break down during the competition and want to leave the game.

Profile

Shawna Mitchell received a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from the College of William and Mary in May, 2001. She currently works for an outdoor retail company and was previously employed as a business development manager for web services. She also has experience working as a restaurant supervisor at a ski resort in Utah, an event associate for the Senior Pro-Tennis Tour and as an assistant photographer.

Mitchell enjoys being outdoors, traveling and hanging out with friends. She studied abroad in Tasmania and also interned in London for a sports marketing firm. An avid competitor, she has played soccer since she was three and competed internationally during her youth. She describes herself as gregarious, open-minded and charismatic. If she could hold a political office, she'd like to be the U.S. Ambassador to New Zealand. If she wins the $1 million, she wants to volunteer and travel internationally.

Mitchell is currently single and has recently moved to Los Angeles from San Francisco with her dog, Indiana. She is a member of the Virginia Gamma Chapter of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority, Masters Swimming, the College of William and Mary Alumni Association and the Menlo School Alumni Association. She is very close with her identical twin sister, Kerrin, her brother, Derek and her parents, Bruce and Suzanne. Her birth date is July 28, 1979.

Survivor: Amazon

Shawna Mitchell was placed on the all-female Jaburu tribe. Shawna had trouble untying the rope to the boat, leaving her embarrassed. All of the women were excited when they reached the camp site. However, the women's attempts to make fire was a fiasco. The women's attempt to make camp comfortable was inept. Despite that, the women won the first Immunity Challenge because the men stumbled on the balance beam. However, the tribe was still dysfunctional at camp. Things turns into an uproar when a  granola bar wrapper was discovered. Jeanne Hebert believed that Janet Koth was the culprit, which the latter denied. The women won the Reward Challenge because of Joanna Ward, earning fish bait. However, the Tambaqui men won immunity. Shawna agreed with voting out Janet, who was not accustomed to the environment and because of the grano;a bar incident.  

At the next Reward Challenge, Daniel Lue introduced himself to Shawna. She hoped to see him at the merge. Jaburu won reward and toiletries. Shawna preferred to bath with Heidi Strobel and Jenna Morasca. The tribe decided to put Deena Bennett in charge of delegation's. This was a wise choice as Deena led the tribe to major improvements at the camp. The women won immunity, keeping Shawna safe. However that day, Shawna was woken up by Jeanne and Joanna working at camp. She felt that Joanna and Jeanne were just trying to make them feel bad by working so much in comparison to the other tribe members. Shawna, Heidi, and Jenna decided to align themselves. Shawna decided to get Deena in for a majority, which she accepted. After the men won reward, Shawna had a breakdown and asked to be voted out if Jaburu should lose the Immunity Challenge. Tambaqui won immunity, so the women were going to Tribal Council. Jeanne and Joanna were ready to vote out Shawna, which she was thankful for. Deena, on the other hand, felt this the prime opportunity to vote out Joanna and that Shawna should suck it up. Much to her shock, Joanna was voted out in a 4-2-1 vote.

Shawna was complaining about the tribe not respecting her request. The next tree mail said to pick its youngest member to have fun, which was Jenna. When Jenna returned, she announced there was a tribe switch. Heidi, Christy Smith, and Jeanne would be transfer to Tambaqui and be replaced by Alex Bell, Rob Cesternino, and Matthew von Ertfelda. Shawna sparked back up in the presence of the men, especially Alex. Deena was very worried that Shawna may be more interested in Alex than in an all-female alliance. Jaburu won immunity, keeping Shawna safe. Alex and Shawna became closer and closer. Shawna held conversation date nights. At the Reward Challenge, Shawna won both her rounds against Heidi. However, Jaburu lost the challenge and the spices that came with it. Jaburu lost the Immunity Challenge, and Alex and Shawna decided to vote out Matthew. However, Deena felt that Shawna was more interested in Alex than in the game. At Tribal Council Shawna was the one voted out in a 4-2 vote.

• On January 9, 2010, Shawna attended Survivor's 10-year anniversary party.

Trivia

• Shawna's luxury item was a soccer ball.
• During the reward challenge in Girl Power, Daniel Lue implied that he had a crush on Shawna.
• Starting with Shawna, every contestant that resided in California at the time of filming was eliminated.
