Ryan Shoulders (also known as Skinny Ryan) is a contestant from Survivor: Pearl Islands.
Profile
Born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee, Ryan Shoulders is currently single and was most recently employed as a produce clerk in a grocery store. He spent two years studying communications and computer science at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville. His favorite hobbies include writing/recording his own electronic and punk rock music, watching and creating movies and attending live concerts. He describes himself as creative, fascinating and unpredictable. He is most proud of making it to the National Forensics Tournament in high school since he had tried all four years and finally made it his senior year. He has five dogs, including one that is three-legged. His favorite sports are Capture The Flag, basketball and indoor soccer. His heroes are the musicians of NOFX...in his words, "they are 40 years old and still record punk music and play live." He feels he's up for SURVIVOR: PEARL ISLANDS because he considers himself to be very creative and to have a resourceful mind for problem solving. He also feels he has the tenacity to succeed in a goal, however vital, insignificant or competitive. His birth date is March 28, 1980.
Survivor: Pearl Islands
Assigned to the Morgan tribe, Ryan was immediately labelled as an outcast due to his physical appearance. Although a fan of the strategic game, Ryan struggled with daily camp life, much to the akin of his more stronger tribe mates. Spared from the first Tribal Council after the deceptiveness of Nicole Delma was exposed, Ryan did not improve his standing within Morgan after failing to prove his worth in a swimming challenge.
Because of his weakness, Ryan was voted out on Day 6 and later returned as a part of The Outcasts on Day 19, unbeknownst to the remaining players. Upon his return at the sixth Immunity Challenge, Ryan sported a purple bandanna and had shown signs of anger towards Morgan by writing die jerks on his buff. Ryan was overjoyed when he had the opportunity to return back to the competition. At The Outcast's respective Tribal Council, Ryan voted for Burton Roberts and Lillian Morris to return to the game, both ended up returning. Ryan garnered the votes of Nicole and Lillian Morris, but did not return to the game.

- Ryan S. is also the tallest contestant on Pearl Islands.
- While the Outcasts tribe didn't have an official buff, they had pieces of purple fabric as their unofficial one; Ryan wrote "Die, Jerks" on his.
- Ryan S. was the only male to be permanently eliminated during the Outcast twist.
- Ryan received a vote at every Tribal Council he attended.
