Survivor: Redemption IslandEdit
From the beginning, Ralph tried to show that he was not the most intelligent person, but in confessional he stated that this was an act. A few more days down the line, Ralph stumbled upon the Hidden immunity idol while collecting rocks. He saw Russell Hantz take the clue to the Immunity Idol out of the second reward basket and called him out. He was just stirring the pot (stealing a page from Russell's book) because he already had the idol. When Zapatera went to their first Tribal Council, Ralph conspired with the majority of the tribe to get rid of Russell.
Ralph was in the main alliance of six controlling Zapatera. Following Russell's elimination, they won the following challenge, but lost the fifth and eliminated Krista Klumpp as the next easy target. When they lost the sixth challenge, they decided to keep the trust strong and eliminated the strong but wildcard Stephanie Valencia. After losing the next challenge, however, Ralph did not vote with the tribe. He voted for David Murphy, while it was Sarita White that was voted out.
However, David told Ralph that he wasn't mad, but Ralph was still wary nonetheless. In the first merged tribal council, Ralph played his idol on Mike, which turned out to be a mistake as Mike received no votes and Matt Elrod was voted off, leaving Zapatera with a numbers disadvantage and with no way to protect against it. Ralph would see allies Mike Chiesl, David, and Julie Wolfe get voted off before him, doing well in a few challenges along the way, even though he never won one, including the most vital one during the day on Day 30, in which Grant Mattos narrowly beat him. With the Ometepe alliance of six led by Rob Mariano wary that Ralph's chances of making an immunity run are stronger than other last remaining Zapatera member Steve Wright, Ralph was voted off 6-2.
Upon arriving at Redemption Island, Ralph said that he knew that if a Zapatera member made it to the end that they would vote for him and Ralph wants that to be him. Ralph told Matt and Mike that Steve wasn't in good shape among other things, unaware that Steve would join them soon after. After Ralph's first duel, which he won and played a part in eliminating Steve, Mike had to choose whether he'd let the Redemption Islanders spend time with their loved ones or the 6 (the Ometepe 6 that decimated the Zapatera tribe) for doing the same, Mike chose to do the most good for the most people and let the 6 that were still in the main game spend time with their loved ones. Matt seemed to have no problem with the decision, but Ralph viewed it as a stupid one. On Day 33, the duel was between Matt, Mike, Ralph, and Andrea, and in the end, Ralph lost, ending his run and making him the 4th member of the jury and getting him 9th place.
At the final tribal council, Ralph didn't seem to favor anyone out of the final 3 at first, but he appreciated Phillip Sheppard saying that Ralph was the nicest and hardest working member of Zapatera. That likely influenced Ralph's decision to vote for Phillip, which would get Phillip second place, but all the other jurors voted for Rob.
