Story
Day 11
Luzon returned to camp after voting out J'Tia Taylor to find their campfire still ablaze. Spencer Bledsoe hugged and thanked Kass McQuillen and Tasha Fox for saving him from the vote. Kass said that she'd had a gut feeling that keeping J'Tia would only send them back to Tribal again, so she'd switched the vote at the last minute. Spencer told them, "This could be the Final Three. The only thing between us and that is two entire tribes."

Day 12
The following morning, Luzon awoke and started cooking their rice when Tasha returned to camp with Tree Mail. The message informed them of a food Reward Challenge involving "kicking and screaming." As Tasha felt optimistic about the challenge – and hoped their decision to keep Spencer for his physicality – Luzon departed camp.
| “ | The decision to keep Spencer will be tested today. We keep saying, "This is the best combination of people. This is the strongest tribe we have." Well, the rubber will meet the road today. The Brain tribe has been through so much and if we come out with a victory, I think people will start thinking again about how strong this Brain tribe really is. | ” |
At the Reward Challenge, Jeff Probst welcomed in Aparri and Solana, who got their first glimpse of the new Luzon. Immediately, Jeff told the tribes to drop their buffs for a Tribe Switch and Dissolve into two new tribes. Jeff brought out a ball of wrapped packages, instructing each contestant to choose one.
| “ | Jeff says, "Drop your Buffs" and my head just went – (drops head) It took me probably six days to figure out who I could trust out here and now I have to start all over. | ” |
He then instructed everyone to open the package to reveal their new Buff – and new tribe. The entire Luzon tribe drew orange Buffs, whilst most of Aparri drew purple and Solana was split down the middle. The new tribes then assembled. The new Aparri consisted of Alexis, Jeremiah, Kass, Morgan, Sarah, Spencer, and Tasha. The new Solana tribe comprised Cliff, Jefra, Lindsey, LJ, Tony, Trish, and Woo.

Asked about being the only member of the Brawn tribe to remain on Aparri, Sarah said she thought she was the "odd one out" in her new tribe. Tasha, meanwhile, was excited for the fresh start, and felt the new Aparri would be strong in challenges. Meanwhile, Jefra was feeling outnumbered by Brawn on the new Solana, hoping that there would be challenge strength, but also an opportunity to find some cracks in the tribe for her and LJ to exploit. Cliff noted that the swap provided everyone with a choice to either stick with old alliances or form new ones.
Jeff then revealed the challenge: Kicking and Screaming. One person from each tribe would hang onto a large pole whilst two members of the opposing tribe would fight to pry them from the pole and then drag them to the finish line. The first tribe to win two rounds would win Reward in the form of coffee, doughnuts, chocolate-chip cookies, blueberry pastries, cinnamon rolls, and brownies.
In the first, all-female, round, Morgan and Sarah (for Aparri) took on Lindsey, whilst Jefra and Trish (for Solana) took on Tasha. Early on, Aparri gained the advantage with the women pulling Lindsey's arms free, then Morgan sitting on her whilst Sarah began work on her legs. Meanwhile, Tasha stayed locked tight on the pole, making it difficult for Jefra or Trish to get her loose. Although, Morgan and Sarah got Lindsey off the pole, she was able to grab back on and headlock Morgan with her legs, allowing time for Jefra and Trish to pry back Tasha's arms. However, Aparri managed to get Lindsey off the pole again and began inching her towards the finish line. Despite Lindsey getting to her feet, she was tackled by Sarah and Morgan who dragged her across the line to score the first point.
In the second round, the teams were comprised of two men and one woman. For Aparri, Jeremiah and Spencer aimed to drag Cliff from the pole, whilst LJ and Trish took on Alexis for Solana. Almost immediately, LJ and Trish pulled Alexis from the pole and began dragging her by her feet to the line. As Cliff chuckled whilst Jeremiah and Spencer struggled to even loose his arms, Alexis was easily dragged through the sand and over the line to even the score 1-1.
In the final round, the match-ups were again two men and one woman, with Lindsey and Tony taking on Sarah, and Jeremiah and Spencer again squaring off against Cliff. Solana managed to quickly pry Sarah from her pole as Aparri were able to dislodge Cliff's arms, with Jeremiah trying to keep him pinned down. Sarah fought hard to make up time, digging into the sand as Spencer fought to unwind Cliff's legs. Although he was able to do so, and Sarah continued to fight against her attackers, Tony and Lindsey were able to pull her across the line to win the challenge for the new Solana. Both tribes departed for their new homes.

At Solana, the tribe dug into their food reward and got to know each other. As Jefra correctly guessed that Lindsey was a hairstylist, and LJ guessed Woo to be a surf instructor, Boston-bred Trish discovered that LJ was a fellow Massachusetts native. Trish was excited by this shared connection, and the two continued to get to know each other discussing LJ's career as a horse trainer, and his revelation that he was single. As the two flirted, Lindsey looked on in disgust.

I do have an Idol that I can play, but that would only buy me a few more days and then I'm gone. So my only hope is that they absorb me as a team member as opposed to a threat. | ” |

Meanwhile, Woo and Cliff discussed the good fortune they'd had with the swap in keeping five of the original Aparri together. However, Cliff noted his disappointment that they were still stuck with Trish, and in a confessional, revealed his uncertainty regarding her loyalty.
| “ | I feel good about the way things were mixed up today. I was able to keep five of my original members of my tribe. If we can continue moving on with the people that we have, I mean, we're in a great position. My concern right now is Trish. I don't know what's going on with her and LJ. I just have to really keep an eye on the two of them. It's a must. | ” |
Meanwhile, the Sarah showed her new tribe around the Aparri beach. Strategically, she told the tribe that they had two bags of rice from the Day 1 twist, allowing the rest of the tribe to deduce that Garrett Adelstein had sought Luzon's Idol. This also served to blow up Morgan's lie, but she casually told her tribe that she'd taken the clue, but hadn't found the Hidden Immunity Idol.
| “ | I'm the only original Aparri member on a tribe with three Brain and three Beauties. It's definitely a scary position to be in because you don't know who you can trust and who you can't trust. That's why I wanted to ask about, on Day One, who took the clue or did they take the rice. | ” |
| “ | Sarah sorta outed me when she said that, y'know, Trish picked rice instead of the Idol 'cause I chose the clue and I kept it a secret the entire time, so... (sighs) I mean, hopefully I kinda start fresh with this tribe and no one holds it against me. | ” |
The revelation shocked Alexis, who decided to "jump ship." She later approached Kass, Spencer, and Tasha, telling them that she had been close with Jefra and proposing a new four-strong alliance. She also divulged Jeremiah's alliance flip-flopping and Morgan's laziness, but the former Brains were suspicious of her desperation. Later, Morgan gossiped about Alexis behind her back, telling the Brains and Sarah that she'd been LJ's cuddle-partner and mocking her twerking. To complete the trifecta, Jeremiah also threw his former tribemates under the bus, telling Kass and Tasha that Morgan didn't trust him and he had a rocky relationship with Alexis, proposing that he be their fourth number. In confessionals, Spencer and Tasha reveled in their newfound power position.
| “ | Morgan lied Day 1 and it put a bigger red flag. Not that she doesn't have one hundred red flags already! It told me exactly what I needed to know which is to not trust her and never ally with her. So I'm gonna protect myself and jump ship right away. | ” |

Back at Solana, Jefra and Trish went for a walk to the well and discussed the intense storm they had survived several days earlier. When they were out of earshot, Trish told Jefra about her conflict with Lindsey and revealed Lindsey's alliance with Cliff. Jefra said she had a "shady feeling" about Cliff, and the two women agreed that they could try to vote him out. As they returned to camp, they passed Cliff, bidding him an innocent greeting, "Hey, hey, big man."

Day 14
The two tribes reconvened for the Immunity Challenge. Jeff took back the two Immunity Idols, discarding the smaller "little brother" and putting "Big Mama – or Papa" back up for grabs. Jeff then revealed the challenge: Gate Crasher. Six members of each tribe would use a large log to smash through two wooden walls before maneuvering the battering ram through a narrow table, by solving a maze etched into the surface of the log. The first tribe to solve the puzzle and ring the gong at the end of the course would win Immunity, whilst the losing tribe would head to Tribal Council. With both tribes needing to sit someone out, Solana chose to Trish on the bench, whilst Aparri debated the option until Alexis and Morgan squared off in a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who was to sit out. Morgan lost and took her place, allowing the eager Alexis to compete.
Aparri made the first dent in their wall, but Solana quickly caught up. LJ and Tony broke through the splinters, enabling the tribe to gain a lead, allowing them to move on to the second gate. Meanwhile, Aparri, who were struggling to lift their ram high enough to break through the wall switched places to put Jeremiah and Spencer at the front. The change in strategy worked, getting them through their first gate as Solana worked on their second.
With a new burst of energy, Aparri quickly caught up to a weary Solana, breaking through their second wall with ease and crawling through the hole in the wall to come out of the gate neck-and-neck with Solana. Both tribes started the maze simultaneously with LJ and Tony solving the puzzle for Solana, and the Brains, led by Tasha, leading for Aparri. Solana made a big mistake, which Aparri also struggled with. However, Aparri recovered quickly and closed in on the end of the maze. Although Solana was close behind, Aparri finished their maze first and ran the ram into the gong to win Immunity. As Aparri celebrated (with Spencer congratulating the tribe on their communication), a baffled Tony asked, "How did that happen!?" As the tribes headed back to camp, Tony gave a confessional revealing the Brawn tribe's intentions to vote out LJ.

Back at the Solana camp, the tribe were baffled by their loss. LJ suspected that he was on the block, and made his case to Cliff, Lindsey, and Woo as a challenge asset. However, Cliff later talked with Lindsey, Tony, and Woo, confirming the plan to vote out LJ, with Woo rationalizing that he was more useful than LJ in the challenges and assuring a paranoid Lindsey that, despite Trish's sidling up to LJ, they had a solid plan.

And it puts Jefra and I in a tough spot. Most likely, they're gonna try to get me to go home so unless something happens, I'm screwed. | ” |

Back at the old camp, we had, you know, some tension, some issues here and there, but now it's a whole different game and we have to look at the bigger picture. LJ asked Trish if he was the target, and she told him that they couldn't be seen fraternizing, but she had his back. She suggested that they vote out Cliff, who was not on their side. She told LJ that she had Tony on her side, and the three of them, plus Jefra, would make a majority. LJ later asked if he could trust her, and she assured him, "We're ____ing Boston, okay?"
| “ | I talked to Trish and she said that she wants to get rid of Cliff and I was shocked. Apparently, Trish and Tony don't like Cliff and it just doesn't make sense to me. You're five to two. You don't need to talk anything. Still, if what she says is true, I might not have to play my Idol. | ” |

| “ | I play with my heart and I really like LJ. He's a gentleman, he gets along with people, he never gives up. I mean, the guy's got it all. But Cliff, he doesn't do anything. And fourteen days of his entitlement is about as much as my nervous system can handle. So we're putting Cliff's name down on that ballot. And the best part about the whole thing is Cliff doesn't have one single clue. And it's really cracking me up! (cackles) | ” |
As Lindsey worried that Trish was going to flip on the Brawn tribe, Trish approached Tony about voting out Cliff – who she accused of being lazy and ignoring her, and argued was an Immunity threat at the merge, before sending home Lindsey (or, "ding-a-ling") next. Although he told Trish that he trusted her, he argued that it was more sensible to stick with the Brawn numbers and worried that they could get picked off if they fractured. Trish, however, insisted that Jefra and LJ were trustworthy.
| “ | Trish pulls me to the side and says she wants to get rid of Cliff. We need to cut the head off the snake. Which is crazy! I don't know if she's bipolar, or schizo. I don't know what she is. But there's no reason to do this right now. What we need to do is get rid of LJ. He has the heart, he has the drive, he has the ambition, y'know, he has the strategic mind. So he's dangerous. | ” |

When Cliff asked Tony what Trish had been saying to him, he answered that she'd been hoping that the Brawn stayed solid, and that he'd hammered home that they needed to stick together despite the changing dynamics. Cliff commented that he was confident because even if she flipped, she still wouldn't have the majority – and would be the next to go. Meanwhile, Jefra expressed concern to LJ regarding Tony's trustworthiness.
| “ | I'm actually looking forward to going to Tribal Council. Trish really got caught up on her emotions so we're gonna chop down Trish's new support system and have her come grovelling back to her old tribemates. | ” |

When Solana arrived at Tribal Council, the Brawn tribe collected and lit their torches as a thunderstorm poured. Jeff began by asking LJ about being outnumbered after the Tribe Switch. He answered that it was "very intimidating and very uncomfortable," comparing the situation to a couple selling their home to a group of people, and waiting to be dismissed. Asked if anything had changed given they still had the numbers, Cliff said it should have been simple to continue with Brawn, but noted that there would always be someone "who can't put their emotions aside." He emphasized that the game was about numbers at the end of the day. Woo revealed that Cliff was worried about someone flipping, but backed up the assertion that they had to trust in the numbers and "going against that is only going to put you in a bad situation."
Trish agreed that the vote was going to be a test of loyalty for the Brawn tribe, but countered that numbers were only important "if they're gonna work for you," and if not, then it was prudent to make other arrangements, prompting wide eyed glances from the former Aparri. Jefra said that this was just the news she and LJ needed, adding that the game was "all about risk and somebody's the bottom man in that five." Lindsey admitted that it was scary that LJ and Jefra had nothing to lose, but urged the Brawn tribe to remain unified as it was ultimately going to be the "five of us and the other tribe, eventually, together – not including Jefra and LJ."
Asked if finally coming to Tribal was cathartic, Cliff compared the experience to the NBA playoffs: "The series doesn't start until you lose a game." He added that the old Aparri hadn't been tested yet, but following the vote, they'd have those questions answered. Tony commented that Tribal would shift the game significantly, depending on which team came out on top.
Jeff then called the vote. Woo voted for LJ, with Lindsey and LJ casting their votes next. Jefra then cast her vote for Cliff, and was followed by Trish, Cliff, and finally Tony (who made his vote for "strategical" reasons). Jeff then tallied the votes.
After much deliberation, LJ chose not to play his Hidden Immunity Idol and Jeff read the votes. The first vote was for LJ, followed by a vote for Cliff. The next two votes were split again, to tie the tally at 2 for LJ and 2 for Cliff. A third vote for LJ was followed by yet another for Cliff, tying the score at 3-3 with one vote remaining. The final vote came up for Cliff, completely blindsiding Lindsey and Woo, who watched in horror as a surprised Cliff collected his torch. As his torch was snuffed, Cliff bid good luck to his former tribe and departed, becoming the fifth person voted out of Survivor: Cagayan. Jeff sent Solana back to camp, noting that they had, indeed, discovered where loyalties lay.

Challenge: Kicking and Screaming
One member of each tribe would hang on to a post. Two members of the opposing tribe would attempt to remove the tribe member from the post and drag them across the sand to the finish line. The first tribe to get the member of the other tribe across the finish line would receive one point. The first tribe to score two points wins reward.

Each tribe uses a puzzle log to break through two sets of gates; then, they must turn, pull, and push the puzzle log to navigate a maze that is worked into the surface of the log. Once the log is cleared from the maze station, the first tribe to hit a gong at the end of the course wins immunity.

- A Dream Come True: Kass McQuillen talked about the blessing of the tribe swap, including moving to a new beach with a bigger shelter and significantly more rice ("We just ate more rice this afternoon than we've eaten in twelve days!") and compared the new Aparri camp to Fantasy Island.
- It Could Have Been Worse: Woo Hwang balanced his disappointment at having the Brawn tribe disbanded with the swap working out in his favor, keeping most of his tribe together and adding challenge assets LJ McKanas and Jefra Bland.
- I Was Ambivalent: Trish Hegarty discussed her middling emotional response to the tribe swap, but felt that "things were looking up" for her with regard to her new hardworking tribemates LJ and Jefra, who was near her daughter's age, offering the two women a good connection.

- Furthermore, Sarah Lacina is the only remaining castaway to not attend Tribal Council this season.
- Trish compares herself to "Mrs. Robinson." This is a reference to the 1967 film The Graduate, in which an older woman (Mrs. Robinson) seduces a young college graduate.
- Everyone who held onto the pole and lost (Lindsey Ogle, Alexis Maxwell, and Sarah Lacina) in Kicking and Screaming all ended up being the next three females eliminated in the same order they lost the round.
- This is the only episode where Woo Hwang did not vote with the majority.
