Nicolle Dickson is a contestant from Celebrity Survivor Australia.
Nicolle began on the Moso tribe, however she and Imogen Bailey were soon swapped to Kakula. There, she and Imogen were able to convince Kakula member Gabrielle Richens to flip on her alliance and blindside Wayne Gardner. She entered the merge within the majority, forming an especially close bond with Imogen after she gave Nicolle the immunity necklace at tribal council. A twist occurred at the final three which led to Guy Leech and Justin Melvey returning to the game, and the pair were able to convince Imogen and Nicolle to target David Oldfield for his challenge strength; this proved to be a fatal move as the boys performed much better physically than the girls, and so gained the advantage. Nicolle was targetted at the next tribal council and after a countback tiebreaker with Justin led to yet another deadlock, the jury voted on who left the game. Unimpressed by Nicolle's passive gameplay and having all been voted out by the girls previously, the jury opted to vote Nicolle out of the game, placing her 4th.

For six years, she played Bobby, one of the best-loved characters on Home and Away. But she gave it all up in 1994 to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.
“It was a natural progression,” the 37-year old says now. “I’d been married for six years, and been on the show for six years. I just found it was a time to go. When you’re madly in love, it’s just a beautiful thing to have a baby together and then when you have one you might as well have another!”
Nicolle has two sons, Lincoln, 10 and Winston, 8, with her husband James, who is a policeman.
“It is fantastic,” she says. “I reckon motherhood though – and you can speak to lots of mums – is the hardest job. It’s demanding and challenging, but probably the most rewarding.”
Understandably then, having never spent more than a night away from her kids, it’s her family that Nicolle will miss the most while competing on Celebrity Survivor.
“I will definitely have trouble living without my boys,” she sighs. “I will miss them dreadfully. They don’t want me to go either but they’re in two minds. They’re kind of excited for me and can’t wait to hear all the exciting things that I have to do. They hope I have to eat witchetty grubs and stuff like that! My husband is stoked for me because he thinks I have the opportunity to have a real fun adventure. I also want to prove to my kids that I can conquer and get past my fears because I’m a big scaredy cat.”
Nicolle, who is now working as an accounts clerk and bookkeeper as well as studying accountancy at TAFE, thinks being a married mother of two could work to her advantage.
“I reckon being married and having kids makes you a team player,” she says. “I’m pretty fit but not very fast and I’m probably not seriously strong but I’m very determined! And I’ve actually always thought it would be fun to do a boot camp for a physical challenge.”
In preparation for the show, Nicolle gave up coffee.
“I’ve been going all right,” she laughs. “I work out every day so I’ve increased that a little bit too. I’ve also googled how to open coconuts and make bushfires!”
Nicolle's chosen charity is the Starlight Children's Foundation Australia.
Celebrity Survivor Australia[]
Being placed on the Moso tribe, Nicolle was notable for her shock at the lack of luxuries that the camp was given. As such, she suffered from the elements early on, however not as hard as tribemates Kym Johnson and Imogen Bailey. This allowed her to gain a role in the power structure of the tribe, forming a tight alliance with Amber Petty, Fiona Horne and Justin Melvey. Nicolle got on well with her tribe, even forming an early bond with Imogen over the lack of food the group had, and was also seen as an asset in challenges. This allowed her to make it to Day 6 unscathed, where Australian Survivor introduced its first ever tribe switch.
On Day 6, the tribes were switched, and Nicolle found herself on the new Kakula tribe with her friend Imogen. Being on the outs, the two decided to form their own alliance to combat the three former Kakula members, however Kakula proved to be the dominant of the two tribes, winning the first two Immunity Challenges on Day 7 and Day 9. Through this time, Nicolle and Imogen noticed Gabrielle Richens' dwindling relationship with allies Guy Leech and Wayne Gardner, and so tried to convince her to instead stick with the girls. This strategy proved to be successful; after losing the Day 11 Immunity Challenge, Gabrielle chose to flip on her allies, joining the girls in voting out Wayne and subsequently joining their alliance.
At the merge on Day 12, Nicolle entered with the numbers on her side, with Justin rejoining his original alliance with Nicolle and Imogen. The four were able to dominate the early merge, voting out challenge threat Guy on Day 13, followed by Elton Flatley two days later. During this time, David Oldfield began distancing himself from his former allies and also began an immunity streak, sparing him from elimination, and so the alliance of four began speculating what would happen should they turn on each other. Lines in the sand appeared to be drawn after Nicolle won the Day 16 Reward Challenge and invited Imogen to join her, dividing the alliance.
This tension eventually boiled into controversy; around this time, Nicolle revealed to Imogen that Justin had approached her early on and offered her money in exchange for remaining in the game. This shocked Imogen, and the two began a campaign to vote Justin out. Although David lost his first individual immunity to Imogen on Day 17, the duo instead decided to turn on alliance member Justin; after giving Nicolle her individual immunity to demonstrate she wasn't hiding behind it, the two convinced Gabrielle to turn on her former ally at tribal council. This move, however, turned out to be a poor won as, despite Nicolle seemingly dominating after winning her second straight reward, David won individual immunity on Day 19, forcing the girls to turn on each other. Nicolle and Imogen's tight bond forced them to turn on Gabrielle, voting her off the tribe and leaving it as the two girls against David.
However, a twist on Day 20 allowed two of the first four members of the jury to return to the game. Guy and Justin ended up winning this competition, rejoining in a minority position. The two realised that they needed each other to get to the end, and so formed a tight duo. Imogen won the Day 21 Immunity Challenge, however the duo feared that the boys were working together to vote out Nicolle. This paranoia would end up being their downfall; when the girls were approached by Guy and Justin suggesting they vote out David, the two blindly agreed. David was finally voted out, however placing their trust in the boys would prove to be the wrong decision.
On Day 23, Guy would win a crucial immunity, keeping himself safe from a potential deadlock tiebreaker. The girls, now realising their mistake, were forced to instead target Justin. The boys, using their combined Kakula and Moso knowledge, figured that Nicolle had more past votes than Imogen, and thus at tribal council, Nicolle and Justin found themselves in a 2-2 deadlock. For having the same number of past votes, it was put to the jury to decide who left. Given Nicolle and Imogen had worked together to vote out the entire jury, the fact that the jury were predominantly supporting Guy, and the fact that they didn't respect Nicolle's lacklustre gameplay and blind following of Imogen, Nicolle was voted out unanimously by the jury in a 3-0 vote, becoming the fourth member of the jury.
At the Final Tribal Council on Day 25, Nicolle reprimanded Justin for his prior actions in offering her money early on in the game. However, she appeared to accept Justin's apology and voted for him to win. Despite this, Justin lost to Guy in a 3-2 vote.
