- Koh-Lanta 2 - Nicoya - Costa Rica (2002)

Nicoya[]
In Nicoya, Nicolas was a dominant strategic force. Nicolas formed an alliance with Bernard Lenoir, Marianne Mondon, and Isabelle Vial and they controlled the eliminations at Ventanas during the tribal phase. He also formed a close friendship with François-Xavier Arguillère.
On Day 14, Ventanas sent Bernard to what they thought was going to be a hero challenge for reward, but it turned out to be a tribe switch. As a result, Bernard was reassigned to the Tambor tribe and their representative, Jacky Moreau, was reassigned to the Ventanas tribe. As a positive for everyone, both tribes were given fishing equipment, presented to them by their new members, as a welcoming gift. Because Nicolas lost a member of his majority alliance due to the tribe switch and because he figured that Jacky wouldn't trust his former tribe due to them having voted him out before, he considered recruiting Jacky into this alliance. However, upon realizing that the Tambor tribe voted out Pierre Cambon instead of Bernard at the first elimination since the tribe switch, he didn't go forward with this idea. Instead, he infamously convinced Jacky to help his alliance throw the next immunity challenge under the false pretense of wanting to eliminate François-Xavier. In reality, the majority alliance and François-Xavier, who had recently become an affiliate due to his good friendship with Nicolas, did this in order to protect Bernard from potential elimination and eliminate Jacky for his second time. Upon learning that the tribes were not merging the next day, the majority alliance and François-Xavier once again threw the next immunity challenge in order to protect Bernard again. This time, Adonis Koupaki was eliminated unanimously because he was their only option.
When the tribes merged, the original Ventanas tribe members, including Bernard, pagonged half of the original Tambor tribe members. Upon noticing that the original Tambor tribe members were annoyed with Bernard for his sudden ghosting of them, Nicolas decided that Bernard would be an ideal opponent for him to take with him to the Final Two. At the Final Seven, being the only original Ventanas tribe member to not be a full member of Nicolas' alliance, François-Xavier tried to shake things up by allying with former Tambor tribe members Amel Fatnassi and Maud Garnier to blindside either Marianne or Isabelle. They agreed on Marianne as Isabelle had been more receptive to the former Tambor tribe members than Marianne and François-Xavier attempted to flip Nicolas against Marianne in order to make this happen. However, Nicolas informed his alliance about François-Xavier's plotting and they put their pagonging plans on hold to blindside François-Xavier instead.
At the Final Six, after witnessing Isabelle socializing with Amel and Maud again, Nicolas concluded that she was a strong competitor who would be hard to beat if she made it to the Final Two. Therefore, Nicolas convinced Amel and Maud, who knew that they were in danger at the upcoming elimination, Bernard, and even Marianne to blindside Isabelle unanimously at the upcoming elimination. At the Final Five, Nicolas considered getting the tribe to vote out Marianne, but her winning immunity prevented any possibility of that happening. Right before elimination, production revealed to the merged tribe that Marianne, Nicolas, and Isabelle cheated by straying from camp and receiving food from a ranger multiple times during the tribal phase. In spite of this reveal, the contestants' voting plans, along with their reasonings for their votes, remained unaffected and Maud was voted out. When casting his vote, Nicolas admitted that this was the first time in the game where a vote did not go his way. He had a soft spot for Maud and would have preferred for her to stay over Amel, but he voted against her because that is what his alliance had wanted and he needed to stay in Bernard's good graces, especially considering the cheating allegations that had just been revealed.
Going into the Final Four, Marianne and Nicolas denied any allegations of cheating, but Nicolas gradually confessed to Amel and Bernard that the trio had cheated after Marianne's elimination. After winning the Perch challenge, Amel chose to take Nicolas to the Final Two where she won over him in a 5-2 vote due to her loyal, trustworthy, and honest gameplay and also due in part to some of Nicolas' former allies feeling betrayed by him.

La Revanche des Héros[]
After a ten-year layoff, Nicolas entered the game with his reputation as a sneaky and strategic player still intact. A member of the Nekmao tribe, Nicolas developed a rivalry with fellow strategist Patrick Merle and entered a minority alliance with Guénaëlle Biras and Marine Plissonneau. After Marine was voted out by the majority alliance at the Nekmao tribe's first Tribal Council, Nicolas bluffed to Patrick that he and Guénaëlle had found the Nekmao Hidden Immunity Necklace and that they would be using it at their next Tribal Council. Nicolas told Patrick that the pair would be voting against him and that he should convince his allies to turn on Claude Dartois in order to keep himself safe. Nicolas' play failed as Patrick himself was in fact the possessor of the Nekmao Hidden Immunity Necklace and Patrick's allies noticed the flaws in Nicolas' blackmail attempt. With nothing real to protect himself with, Nicolas was voted out next.
