|Recurring Survivor Challenge|
|Description:||A recurring challenge|
Heroes vs. Villains
Mud Slide is a recurring challenge of Survivor.
The castaways would be divided into two groups. Each pair will be attached by rope and race through a series of obstacles and through a deep mud pit to get an object with which they will make their way back with to empty into their finish pot, or their basket. The first team to fill their pot/score a certain number of points would win.
In Survivor: Guatemala, the challenge was used for reward. Danni Boatwright, Gary Hogeboom, Judd Sergeant, and Stephenie LaGrossa won a ride to a private home where they can take showers, eat plenty of food, spend the night, and watch videos from home.
In Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains, the challenge was used for immunity and divided in rounds. In the first round two castaways from each tribe would be belted together and would have to race across a mud pit and over obstacles to retrieve a flag to score a point for their tribe. The second round would be a one-on-one competition, while the third round would be back to two-on-two. The first tribe to score two points would win. The Heroes won 2-1 to win immunity.

- Each team that won this challenge had both a Sole Survivor and a runner-up on it.
- While Danni Boatwright and Stephenie LaGrossa were both the winner and runner-up respectively in Survivor: Guatemala, J.T. Thomas, Amanda Kimmel, and Colby Donaldson accomplished this feat in separate seasons (J.T. was the winner of Survivor: Tocantins, Amanda was a runner-up in both Survivor: China and Survivor: Micronesia, and Colby was the runner-up of Survivor: The Australian Outback).
