Francesca Hogi (dubbed "Francesqua" by Phillip) is a contestant from Survivor: Redemption Island and Survivor: Caramoan. She earned the distinction of being the first ever player to be sent to Redemption Island after being voted out from her tribe and later becoming the first person ever to be eliminated from Redemption Island. In her second season, Caramoan, she became the first and only person in Survivor history to be voted out first in two seasons.

Ulong was a tribe from Survivor: Palau. This group of nine is notoriously considered to be one of the worst tribes in Survivor history after failing to secure any Tribal Immunity victories resulting in the final 2 members of the tribe competing in the tiebreaker, thus the term "Ulonging" was coined. Their tribe color is blue.

Hand on a Hard Idol is a recurring immunity challenge that originated in Survivor: Borneo. In this challenge, each tribe member holds on to the immunity idol while standing on a small log. The person who simply lasts the longest wins Immunity. Winners of this challenge include: Kelly Wiglesworth, Kim Johnson, Neleh Dennis and Rob Mariano.

Redemption Island is a controversial twist to appear in Survivor: Redemption Island and Survivor: South Pacific, this twist provides an opportunity for an eliminated player to re-enter the game and continue their pursuit to the million-dollar prize, and the title of Sole Survivor. In order to do so however, eliminated contestants will compete in head-to-head challenges (known as Duels) in order to remain on the island and avoid permanent elimination. There are two re-entry points that take place whilst Redemption Island is in play. The first is at the Final 11, whereupon the winner becomes part of the merged tribe, bringing the tribe to 12 members. The second re-entry point is at the Final 4, where they'll become the Final 5.

Survivor: Micronesia - Fans vs Favorites is the 16th installment of Survivor. This season featured ten new contestants, dubbed as "the super-fans" facing ten of the most popular castaways at the time, known as the "favorites". It culminated with Parvati Shallow defeating Amanda Kimmel in a 5-3 Jury vote.

Thanks for the Souvenir is the sixth episode of Survivor: One World. It marks to medical evacuation of the controversial Colton Cumbie due to an acute appendicitis. This episode received somewhat positive response from the fanbase of the show.
