Day 14

On Day 14, the Favorites at Airai took charge and fixed the tribe's camp site by moving it further inland and building a new shelter. While Airai fell far behind during the rock throwing stage of the Immunity Challenge, they caught up during the puzzle assembly stage and won Tribal Immunity. Joel and Erik approached the Favorites of Malakal about voting out who they perceived as the weakest members: Chet, Cirie, and Tracy. Overhearing this, Cirie took Chet and Tracy aside and they decided to vote Joel out. Cirie told Amanda and Ozzy that it would be better to vote out Joel instead of Chet as Joel was the bigger threat longer term through the game, and that Chet could be used as a pawn for future strategic votes. Cirie also expressed discomfort that if the weaker members of the tribe were to be voted out, she would be voted off soon after Chet. Cirie's argument convinced the Favorites, and Joel was voted out 6–2.

Challenges

Reward

Challenge: Cat & Mouse
The tribes would divide into pairs that are harnessed together. Taking turns in rounds, one pair from one tribe would chase a pair from the other tribe through an obstacle course in the forest and attempt to grab a flag attached to the backs of the pair being chased. There would be a time limit of one minute to chase down the pair. If the chasing pair succeeded in grabbing the flag, their tribe would receive one point. If the chasing pair did not succeed, the other tribe would receive one point. The first tribe to score three points would win the challenge.
Reward: Steak, sausage, vegetables, spices, and wine

Voting Confessionals

Joel did not say anything when he voted.

(votes for Chet) I'm voting for Chet tonight. We wanna stay strong as a tribe and I think you're hilarious, I love ya Chet, you're hilarious but we need to stay strong, take it easy.

—Erik

(votes for Joel) I think you're a really nice guy but you're just very very strategic and in this game we have to watch out for our buddies, so I'm sorry.

—Amanda

(votes for Joel) Joel, um, strength is not just physical and it comes in all shapes and sizes and you should never ever ever judge a book by its cover.

—Cirie

(votes for Joel) Joel you sometimes got to remember, when someone tells you something they may be telling you that for a completely different reason.

—Chet

(votes for Joel) This is because you called me weak one too many times.

—Tracy

(votes for Joel) Full on strategy man, it's just the move we gotta make at this point, sorry.

—Ozzy

(votes for Joel) Joel I'm just sorry to say that a man that is twice my size carries half the amount of firewood a crippled girl carries back to camp? I'm sorry, it's your time.

—Ami

Final Words

The tribe picked Chet over me. A little bit humiliating, insulting. Wow, I don't understand why you would wanna keep somebody like Chet. Ah, it's just very, very confusing. I'm angry. I mean, I think I'd like to ring a couple people's necks right now but it's done. It's done.

—Joel Anderson
