Grégoire Delachaux is the Sole Survivor of Koh-Lanta: Le Choc des Héros. He previously appeared on Koh-Lanta: Palawan.

In Koh-Lanta: Palawan, Grégoire stood out because of his impressive performance in challenges and his survival skills. After the merge, he stood out for his multiple clutches to immunity and escaped elimination several times. He will finally be defeated by Jade Handi in the Uncomfortably Numb challenge, after one of the toughest duels in the history of the show.

He returns in Le Choc des Héros. Seen as a hero, he was the leader of his tribe. He stood out for his duo with Freddy Boucher and their impressive survival skills. He reached the perch final challenge where he urinated from the perch. He won the challenge after a duel with Freddy after standing on the pole for 4 hours and breaking away by standing on one foot on the pole. He finally becomes the Sole Survivor of the season against Freddy.

Grégoire is today one of the most popular castaways in the history of Koh-Lanta. Nicknamed "the White Knight", he is also seen as one of Koh-Lanta's biggest challenge beast. His rivalry with Jade is seen as one of the show's most prominent rivalries.

During the marooning, Denis Brogniart presented the Race to Shore challenge to the contestants, in which the first male and first female contestants to retrieve a bamboo section from a tree upon arriving at the shore would win an advantage. Grégoire climbed one of the trees and collected the advantage for the males, but he dropped it on his way down the tree, which allowed for Érick Africaa to catch the advantage and claim victory for himself. The advantage made challenge winners Érick and Jade Handi tribe captains and granted them the right to form their tribes in a Schoolyard Pick. Grégoire was selected by Érick to be a member of the Guntao tribe. After the tribe failed to win the first Reward Challenge, which was for fire, Pascale Bodin lent her glasses to Grégoire, who was trying to start a fire, to use as a magnifying glass. This helped the tribe succeed in making fire. In spite of Érick doing Grégoire dirty earlier in the Race to Shore challenge, the two became close and both were appreciated by their tribe for their challenge prowess. Conversely, the rival Batang tribe, especially Jade, felt that Grégoire was a sore winner as he would dance and yell in celebration after his tribe would win challenges. After the tribe's men sided with Véronique Lambert and voted out Pascale at the season's first Tribal Council, it became evident that gender would become a potential factor in terms of the tribe's alliance dynamics in time. This possibility was supported when, on Day 9, the tribe's men visited and explored a neighbouring island and decided to spend the night there upon discovering abandoned fishing shelters.

When the Batang tribe won the fourth Reward Challenge on Day 11, they were rewarded with the right to permanently kidnap one of the members of the Guntao tribe as part of a tribe switch. The Batang tribe chose Érick, who up until then was the leader of the Guntao tribe. Though they were upset about losing Érick, the Guntao tribe recovered from their loss quickly and didn't hold back in challenges. When the Gundao tribe lost the fifth Immunity Challenge, Véronique was voted out unanimously as the tribe felt that they could no longer sustain her challenge liability. After the Gundao tribe lost the sixth Immunity Challenge, Adrien Torrin informed Laurent Boudes, Filomène Mendonca, and Chloé Vavasseur that he wanted to blindside Grégoire at the corresponding Tribal Council because the merge was impending and Grégoire would become a tough opponent in individual Immunity Challenges. However, the two women deliberated over whether to vote against Adrien for being somewhat weak in recent challenges or against Grégoire for the same reason that Adrien planned to. Filomène and Chloé ultimately decided to vote against Adrien as they felt that he was being too strategic and, before the vote, they called him out on his plan to blindside Grégoire. However, Adrien himself had ultimately decided to return to voting as a block with the men and, with the women's divulgence confirming his decision, Chloé was voted out in a 3-2 vote. The next day, Grégoire was initially angry with Adrien for the latter's initial plan to vote the former out, but the two reconciled quickly.

When the tribes merged, Laurent, Grégoire, Filomène, and Adrien were reunited with Érick, but Érick had received the Ambassadors' vote earlier when Batang's Ambassador, Patrick Brasier De Thuy, untruthfully told Guntao's Ambassador, Laurent, that the latter was Érick's first pick for the Ambassadors' vote. In response, the original Guntao tribe members planned to vote Patrick out at the merged tribe's first Tribal Council for his duplicity and tried to convince Maryline Hemelsdael and Simon Quintilla to vote in a different direction than Érick. However, after Érick lost the first individual Immunity Challenge, which Grégoire himself had won, Maryline and Simon remained loyal to the original Batang tribe members and sorrowfully contributed to eliminating Érick in a 6-5 vote.

Though Grégoire realized that the original Batang tribe members had just begun pagonging his own alliance by taking out Érick, he became close with Jade and they related over their challenge prowess and their competitive spirit. Jade felt glad to be able to get to know Grégoire more as she realized that her first impressions of him were incorrect. Three days after Érick's elimination, the four remaining original Guntao tribe members received a message in a bottle from Érick wishing them a good game and advising them to not trust the original Batang tribe members. All of the original Guntao tribe members but Filomène had an ungrateful reception, claiming that the letter was nice but also that they wish he had sent food too. Knowing that Grégoire was a challenge threat, the original Batang tribe members made him their primary target for elimination and Grégoire realized that he had to keep winning individual Immunity Challenges in order to make it to the finale. When Grégoire won the second individual Immunity Challenge, Filomène was eliminated by the original Batang tribe members at the corresponding Tribal Council because they perceived Adrien as someone who would be easy to beat in challenges and Kevin Cuoco Giudicelli and Simon were beginning to like Laurent more. Frustrated with Grégoire's Immunity Challenge winning streak, Kevin made it his mission to best Grégoire in the next reward and Immunity Challenges. Grégoire won the third individual Reward Challenge, with the reward being a box containing items from home, but Grégoire relinquished his reward so that Jade could have her box instead. In the third individual Immunity Challenge, Kevin and Jade outlasted Grégoire, but Kevin dropped out soon after and Jade won the challenge. This made Grégoire aware of Kevin's mission, which frustrated Grégoire because he didn't like that Kevin didn't try to win since Grégoire himself needed to win in order to stay alive. As a result of Grégoire finally losing an individual Immunity Challenge, the original Batang tribe members voted him out at the merged tribe's third Tribal Council. The next day, on Day 29, Adrien quit the game in order for Grégoire to return to the game in his place as the former believed that the latter deserved a second chance. When Grégoire returned, most of the original Batang tribe members gave him a cold welcome and, in response, he and Laurent hid the cassavas that Grégoire had found from their tribemates. Eventually, Grégoire explained to the original Batang tribe members how he felt considering the rough position that he was in and he earned their empathy. Unfortunately for Grégoire, he lost the next individual Immunity Challenge to Jade again. Before Tribal Council, Grégoire uncovered the cassavas and presented them to his tribemates as a show of good faith. Regardless, Grégoire was eliminated again, though, unlike last time, he left on good terms with the original Batang tribe members. Jade voted against Laurent that Tribal Council out of sympathy for Grégoire.

Le Choc des Héros[]

Grégoire entered the competition as one of the returning players, so he was assigned to the Tiac tribe. They immediately competed in the first Reward Challenge and lost it against the Malabou tribe, which consisted of renowned French athletes. In spite of this loss, which resulted in them missing out on a niaouli roof reward to use as part of their shelter, the Tiac tribe was confident that they would be able to construct a shelter superior to that of their rivals based on their past experience on Koh-Lanta. The next day, Christina Chevry became stressed and expressed a desire to quit the competition. Christina's tribemates succeeded in calming her down, especially Linda Alario, who consoled her and motivated her to keep fighting for her team in a one-on-one conversation. The Tiac tribe narrowly won the first Immunity Challenge and, on top of this, they succeeded in starting a fire that evening. The next morning, the Tiac tribe feasted on periwinkles and sea urchins to the point where they were full and could not eat anymore, which is a state not often experienced by castaways on the show.

Grégoire was seen as one of the Tiac tribe's leaders, along with Freddy Boucher, concerning life around camp. Right before the second Reward Challenge, Hot Pursuit, both tribes received a new member: Mohamed Derradji was assigned to the Tiac tribe and Taïg Khris was assigned to the Malabou tribe. The Tiac tribe lost this challenge. The next day, the Tiac tribe narrowly won the second Immunity Challenge, earning them safety from Tribal Council again. The Tiac tribe won the third Reward Challenge, but they were clearly divided by the end of the day with Linda, Freddy, and Grégoire in one alliance, Coumba Baradji, Christina, and Mohamed in another, and Christophe Guttatoro-Martin seeming to be a potential swing vote for the two alliances. Coumba and Mohamed made separate attempts to recruit Christophe into their alliance with Mohamed suggesting to him that they take out Freddy, but Christophe responded that he would think about it. Christophe also told Mohamed that taking out Freddy would be a bad idea and that he should be careful not to rebel too much, reminding Mohamed of his own mistake in dealing with Bertrand Bolle in Caramoan. That night, the Tiac tribe gathered around in order for Mohamed to express his feelings about not being their leader, which was a role that Mohamed wanted to take on but couldn't as he did not have enough social capital to do so since he was the newest member of the tribe. Eventually, the tribe's conversation turned into a conflict with some tribe members angrily expressing their issues with other tribe members. After losing the third Immunity Challenge the next day, Coumba's alliance planned to target Linda for her conflicts with Christina instead of targeting Freddy while Freddy's alliance planned to target Mohamed for being the perceived catalyst of the tribe's disarray instead of targeting Christina, who had felt like quitting earlier in the competition. At Tribal Council, Christophe sided with Freddy's alliance, resulting in Mohamed's elimination.

The Tiac tribe lost the fourth Reward Challenge against the Malabou tribe by a landslide. After the challenge, Denis Brogniart surprised the castaways by informing them that they would be merging that day and that both tribes would need to quickly select their respective Ambassadors to compete in a duel. He also informed them that a failure for the Ambassadors to reach a consensus on who to eliminate would result in the loser of the duel being eliminated instead. This was unlike the previous two seasons in which a failure for the Ambassadors to reach a consensus on who to eliminate would result in the two having to opt for a rock draw to determine who between them would be eliminated instead. The Malabou tribe selected Taïg to be their Ambassador and the Tiac tribe selected Christina to be theirs. Christina won the duel against Taïg, which granted her immunity at the merged tribe's first Tribal Council, immunity from being eliminated as an Ambassador, and, in turn, power over Taïg to ensure that a Malabou tribe member is eliminated by the Ambassadors and not a Tiac tribe member. Taïg revealed to Christina that, after being selected to be his tribe's Ambassador, he was approached by Djamel Bouras, Frédérique Jossinet, and Myriam Lamare and the four agreed that he should offer Gwendal's name should he lose the duel. Therefore, Christina and Taïg agreed upon Gwendal and he was eliminated from the game. After Christina and Taïg returned to camp and broke the news, the original Malabou tribe members explained to Gwendal that they had made this pact because they felt that he was the least deserving among them to continue forward through the game due to his arrogance during the tribal phase of the game. With the individual phase of the game beginning, the original Malabou tribe members made plans to vote based on who they thought was the least sportive of the tribe. However, the original Tiac tribe members made plans to pagong the original Malabou tribe members, though Coumba temporarily considered flipping to the other side due to being at the bottom of her alliance along with Christina. Their first target was to be Frédérique, who they feared would be good at the Perch challenge should she make it that far into the competition. Upon realizing that they were going to be pagonged, the original Malabou tribe members expressed their frustrations and changed their plans, opting to vote together against Freddy, who was considered one of the leaders of the original Tiac tribe members. Meanwhile, the original Tiac tribe members changed their plans as well, choosing to target Djamel because they realized that he would be a physical threat in the short-term and that he needed to eat more than the rest of the tribe. Thus, at Tribal Council, Djamel was voted out in a 6-4 vote.

Upon returning from Tribal Council, Christina was temporarily evacuated from the game due to her emotional stress taking a toll on her body. The next day, Frédérique and Myriam generally avoided tasks around camp and tried to relax in order to get themselves ready for the next two challenges, the second of which being crucial for their survival in the game. Linda and Christophe were critical of this, stating that they looked like they were on holiday. Later, when Grégoire began to relax somewhat himself, Myriam told him that he should go fishing. This comment was taken poorly by most of the original Tiac tribe members, who felt that she was talking to him as if he hasn't been active around camp. Though Grégoire did go fishing soon after, the tensions throughout the day developed a rift beyond strategic reasons between the original Malabou tribe members and the original Tiac tribe members. Christina returned to camp the next morning and received a warm reception from her tribemates. Soon after, Taïg pricked his hand with the spiny dorsal fin of a fish he caught which turned out to be venomous. With his hands being temporarily paralyzed and his feeling as if there were ants crawling all over his body, Taïg was quickly treated by a medic who remedied the situation but also deemed Taïg unfit to compete in the second individual Immunity Challenge. In consequence, Taïg was immune from receiving any votes at the corresponding Tribal Council, but also could not cast a vote either. After Frédérique won the second individual Immunity Challenge, Denis Brogniart revealed to the merged tribe that Tribal Council would be taking place right there and then. With Myriam being the only original Malabou tribe member eligible for elimination, Christina believed that her fellow original Tiac tribe members would be voting against her. However, Christina was blindsided by her allies in a 5-2-1 vote because they were concerned for her health. Throughout the next cycle, tensions between the two alliances were alleviated and there was more harmony around camp. This did not change the plans of the original Tiac tribe members though who resumed their pagonging of the original Malabou tribe members. When Freddy and Myriam won the second individual Reward Challenge, the latter tried to convince the former to consider voting based on merit instead of voting strategically. Freddy seemed to agree with Myriam on this, however, he ultimately stuck to his alliance's plan. When Myriam won the third individual Immunity Challenge, Frédérique was voted out at the corresponding Tribal Council.

Upset from realizing that they were still being pagonged, the remaining original Malabou tribe members slept together on the beach away from the original Tiac tribe members, who were sleeping in the shelter. The next night, the merged tribe had to experience heavy rain that continued into the following morning, which affected their morale going into the fourth individual Immunity Challenge. While Grégoire and Christophe went fishing, Myriam became closer to Coumba and had the same discussion about valuing merit over strategy with her as she did with Freddy. After Myriam won the fourth individual Immunity Challenge, which marked her fourth individual challenge win this season, Denis Brogniart revealed to the merged tribe that Tribal Council would be taking place right there and then like two cycles prior. Taïg was left as the only original Malabou tribe member eligible for elimination, so he was voted out by the original Tiac tribe members. The next day, the tribe had to send two people to collect letters from home from the summit of a nearby small mountain. Linda and Christophe went to retrieve the letters and each tribe member had received one. Linda won the fourth individual Reward Challenge, which was for a phone call to a loved one and a night at a hotel. Denis Brogniart informed Linda that she could forfeit her reward to give all of her tribemates a night at the hotel instead and give one of them the phone call. Linda chose to forfeit her reward for her tribemates and gave the phone call to Christophe. While at the hotel, Myriam seized an opportunity to talk to Coumba and Christophe about voting based on merit instead of based on strategy. Meanwhile, back at camp, Linda had a rough night alone as she tried to balance both sleeping and tending to the fire. The following afternoon, the contestants competed in their last individual Immunity Challenge before the finale, which Grégoire won. At the corresponding Tribal Council, Myriam was voted out unanimously as the last original Malabou tribe member standing.

Having made it to the finale, Grégoire won the Perch challenge at the Final Three and took Freddy to the Final Two instead of Christophe. At the Final Tribal Council, both Freddy and Grégoire were praised for their strong overall games. However, the majority of the jurors were more impressed with Grégoire's feats than Freddy's, which resulted in Grégoire winning against Freddy in a 6-2 vote.
