You're Going to Want That Tooth is the fifth episode of Survivor: Tocantins.

Story[]

Day 13[]

The morning after Tribal Council on Jalapao, Stephen Fishbach is giving Taj Johnson-George a massage, when both decided it was time to hunt for the Hidden Immunity Idol. They make their way to the Tree Mail, and succeed in finding it. Taj asks Stephen to hold on to the idol for safe-keeping, as he has pockets; secretly, Stephen considers keeping the idol for himself.

On Timbira, as Tyson Apostol, Coach Wade, Debbie Beebe, and Erinn Lobdell head to the river to wash pots, this leaves Brendan Synnott and Sierra Reed at camp alone. Sierra is upset Brendan didn't tell her bout the Exile Alliance earlier, but is happy to be part of it and fills Brendan in on what she and Taj did on Exile Island. Brendan confirms to Sierra he has the Timbira idol.

At the Reward Challenge, the tribes must spin one of their castaways around to make them dizzy, while the dizzy castaway must cross a balance beam to score a point. The first tribe to three points after four rounds wins a stay at the Charmin Cafe, except for the castaway who is brought to Exile Island with the losing member. After many spins and many stumbles, Timbira wins a round, but Jalapao wins three, giving them the reward. Jalapao sends Brendan to Exile Island again, but instead of taking Taj as usual, Brendan takes Stephen with him. Tyson grows worried about Brendan making contact with Jalapao so often.

Taj, J.T. Thomas, Spencer Duhm, Sydney Wheeler, and Joe Dowdle arrive at the Charmin Cafe, where they happily eat the food on the table. Taj is especially happy as she never got to join her tribe on a reward because of Exile Island, and Joe does not feel the same bond with her because of that. J.T. finds letters from home in the hammock, and everyone eagerly reads them.

Back on Timbira, the tribe wonders why Brendan picked Stephen to join him on Exile Island. Tyson suspects Brendan is trying to build relations with the other tribe, whispering to Debbie and Coach he needs to go next. Debbie warns Tyson not to tell Sierra due to her closeness with Brendan. The tribe notices dark clouds approaching, worried a storm is coming. Coach is confident it will not hit them, only to be proven wrong shortly after, much to Erinn's annoyance.

Day 14[]

On Exile Island, Brendan and Stephen discuss their Exile Alliance. Stephen confirms Taj found the idol and he is currently carrying it, and Brendan reveals he has the idol too. Stephen begins to grow wary of Brendan, wondering whether or not sticking with the Exile Alliance is a good idea.

Day 15[]

On Jalapao, Sydney is telling Spencer about a weird dream she had involving her boyfriend. She asks Spencer if he has a girlfriend, and Spencer says no, claiming he is being patient and trying not to depend on a girlfriend. In reality, however, he is gay, and has not told anyone about it because of possible downsides to revealing it, especially in front of J.T., who he feels might not take it well.

At the Immunity Challenge, Brendan and Stephen return. The tribes must work together to catch balls in their nets as they are shot through the air by two castaways from a large slingshot. The first tribe to get five points wins immunity. Jalapao takes an early lead thanks to J.T.'s dominant catching skills, but he and Joe get injured when Joe hurts his knee and J.T. loses a piece of his front tooth. Timbira starts to catch up thanks to Brendan, and J.T. and Taj argue. The score is now 4-2 with Jalapao leading, but Spencer begins to struggle, unable to stop Tyson from catching balls, the score now tied 4-4. Tyson snags a ball while J.T. misses, allowing Timbira to win immunity.

Back at Jalapao's camp, Taj is angry with herself, and while she, Joe, J.T., and Stephen are in the river trying to discuss the vote, she takes her anger out on Joe, calling him out for never wanting to talk with her. Joe now wants to vote for Taj because of her outburst and the chance she has the idol, putting Stephen in a tough spot because Taj is his ally. Spencer fears J.T. is frustrated with him because of his poor challenge performance, and J.T. admits he was. Spencer awkwardly tries to pitch his case as to why he should stay, and J.T. gives him a name to vote: Taj.

At Tribal Council, the tribe found Taj to be more trustworthy, and Spencer was unanimously voted out in a 5-1 vote.

Challenges[]

Challenge: Dizziness as Usual
A tribe member would sit on a spinning platform at one end of the playing field. Another tribe member would start at the other end and race across to the platform, grab a rope, and pull it back to the starting line. The rope would be wound around the base of the platform, causing the platform to spin as the rope is unwound. When the "puller" returned to the finish line, the sitting tribe member, now dizzy, would have to race across a balance beam to the finish line. The tribes would race against each other in rounds with the first dizzy tribe member across the finish line scoring one point for their tribe. The first tribe to score three points would win.
Reward: A trip to a cafe with coffee, fresh water, pastries, cookies, muffins, and a toilet with toilet paper.
Winner: Jalapao (exiled Brendan Synnott; Brendan chose Stephen Fishbach to accompany him.)

Challenge: Water Mortar
Two tribemates from each tribe would alternate launching balls from a slingshot while the remaining four tribemates have to catch the balls with handheld nets. The first tribe to catch five balls wins.
Winner: Timbira

Final Words[]

S18 spencer bw
Spencer
Well I just got voted out. Out of lasting 15 days but definitely could've lasted a lot longer. I definitely made some friends when I was out there. And I hope they feel the same way. It just frustrating they feel like I wasn't useful enough in challenges. It was just a really bad challenge for me today. And I feel like as far as my attitude in intense situations. But I'll work on that.
