Retrieved from CBS.com
Name: Dale Wentworth (55)
Tribe Designation: Coyopa
Relationship to Significant Castaway: Kelley's father
Current Residence: Ephrata, Wash.
Personal Claim to Fame: Watching my kids grow to be responsible adults. After that, being a self-employed farmer all my life and being able to support my family while doing it.
Inspiration in Life: My dad. He and my mom moved here with nothing and cleared ground and built a farm, taught all us kids a work ethic that has stayed with me all my life.
Hobbies: Snow skiing, cycling and camping.
Pet Peeves: People who never return phone calls.
3 Words to Describe You: Active, outgoing and adventurous.
If You Could Have 3 Things on The Island What Would They Be and Why? 1) A map to explore and then mark where I've been 2) A book that explains what I can or cannot eat 3) Toilet paper
SURVIVOR Contestant You Are Most Like: Big Tom…I have to side with a farmer!
Reason for Being on SURVIVOR: To spend time with my daughter on a new adventure and the challenge of seeing how far I can go in the game.
Why You Think You'll "Survive" SURVIVOR: I'm a self-starter that can get along with most anyone. I work hard and I am very good at using my hands. I've built homes, repaired all sorts of equipment and I am not afraid of hard work or getting dirty.
Why You Think You Will Be the Sole Survivor: All my life I have been faced with everything possible; weather, breakdowns, etc. My family and I can usually find a way to improvise a way to survive and still be able to achieve my goals.
What Does It Mean to You to Play Survivor with Your Loved One? To be given the opportunity to play this game with my daughter is almost indescribable. I am looking forward to being able to watch her in settings that I may not get to see again and hopefully watch her excel in them. I'll have to move past the image of her being my "little girl" to her having grown into a confident proud woman, one that can handle herself in any situation that life can throw at her, and know that she will come out on top, or at the least, throw some "mean punches" on the way as she will never quit trying, no matter what. I think we will build a deeper and stronger bond together after playing Survivor.
Survivor: San Juan del Sur
Dale Wentworth completed with his daughter, Kelley. When it came time to separate, Dale got an Orange buff, placing on the Coyopa. When out to find the well, Dale found this trinket thinking it was a Hidden Immunity Idol and unsure if it was an idol or not, he decided to keep it. In order to make fire, Dale used his reading glasses and succeeded after breaking him in half. Dale gotten praise from his tribe, particularly John Rocker. Dale was happy to make fire because it gives him leverage within his tribe to avoid being voted out. Despite Coyopa initial lead, Hunahpu won immunity because of Coyopa struggling with the puzzle. Dale decided to target Nadiya Anderson because of her experience on The Amazing Race. The women of the tribe, led by Nadiya targeted Dale because of his age making him an liability in challenges. However, Nadiya was voted out after Baylor Wilson flipped to the men.
A few days later, Dale was talking to Wes Nale and Alec Christy in the shelter when Alec brought that John was a former MLB player who made controversial comments towards minorities. At the Immunity Challenge, Dale won his round against Keith Nale, forcing a tie. Dale refused to watch because Kelley was competing but he had to cheer Jaclyn Schultz in order for Coyopa to win. However, Jaclyn lost and Coyopa was forced back to Tribal Council. Val Collins boasted about having an Hidden Immunity Idol and the vote came down to her and Baylor. The initial vote was a 4- 4 vote, with Val being voted out at the re-vote.
Coyopa temporarily broke their winning streak when Wes won the Hero's duel against his father Keith. Wes picked Fishing gear. Dale sat out of the Immunity Challenge, Which Coyopa lost. Then John came under fire from Natalie Anderson about his infamous remarks on gays and minorities. John gotten angry and yelled right back. While Dale voted against Baylor Wilson, everyone else vote out John because of his attitude and being an Negative. Dale realized he was to comfortable in his alliance and was now on the outs. Fortunately for Dale, Coyopa finally manage to win an Immunity Challenge, in large part due to Drew Christy throwing the challenge.
When the tribes met at the Hero's arena, they were visibly shocked that Drew was voted out of the tribe. Instead of an Hero's duel, it was a Tribe Switch. Dale was reunited with Kelley. However, Dale clashed with Missy Payne about her cooking large servings of Coyopa's carefully rationed rice. Missy also grew more irritated with Dale after learning that he tried to vote out her daughter. Kelley talked to Dale about his aggressiveness about the rice and how it would upset people. Kelley deemed herself the peacemaker between him and the tribe to avoid her father and herself being targets. The new Coyopa was once again defeated at the Immunity Challenge. Dale and Kelley decided to team up with Jaclyn and her boyfriend, Jon Misch. They argument was that Baylor was a flipper and untrustworthy. However, Jaclyn and Jon sided with Missy and Baylor and Split the vote in case Dale or Kelley had the Hidden Immunity Idol. Kelley was the one who was voted out in a 3-2-2 vote.
Dale was very upset after Kelley's elimination, likening it to having to watch strangers gang up on Kelley and slaughter her. In an last ditch effort to save himself, Dale tried to use the object found on day one and pass it off as an idol. Jon was amazed that Dale supposedly found the idol. At the Immunity Challenge, Coyopa was leading but lost after struggling with the puzzle. Dale tried to strike up an deal with Jon, offering to give him the "idol" if he wasn't voted out of the game. Although Jon was tempted, he discussed with his alliance and they decided to do a Split Vote between Dale and Keith Nale. At Tribal Council, Dale's lobbying failed and he was voted out in a 3-2-1 vote.
