Brooke Emily Jowett is a contestant from Australian Survivor (2016) and Australian Survivor: All Stars.

Throughout the duration of her time in 2016, Brooke wound up on the Saanapu tribe and soon found control after bonding with Flick Egginton, Matt Tarrant, and Sam Webb. They eventually forged a five-person alliance with Conner Bethune, and later with El Rowland and Lee Carseldine. At the merge, she used her social bonds and newfound power with El and Flick to orchestrate many vote outs and slide through six Tribal Councils with ease. With her multiple individual immunity wins, and social inroads being huge factors in her winning, Brooke was targeted by her Saanapu Alliance, mainly Flick, and was thus blindsided in a close 4-3 vote.

Brooke returned for All Stars where she quickly found herself in a comfortable position on the Vakama tribe, forming particularly close relationships with Locky Gilbert and AK Knight. After the tribe switch, the trio took in outsiders Shonee Fairfax and Harry Hills, forming a tight five-person alliance, and picked off the remainder of their tribe leading up to the merge. At the merge, however, the alliance found themselves relegated to the minority, and were slowly picked off one after another by the Mokuta Alliance. After an impressive Immunity Challenge run by Brooke, she found herself the last remaining member of her alliance. After failing to beat David Genat in the Immunity Challenge on Day 47, she was finally voted out in a unanimous 3-1 vote, finishing fourth overall.

Age: 23
Occupation: Sales Executive
State: NSW

Going through a self-confessed mid-life crisis, Brooke decided to apply for Australian Survivor to give her life a new direction.

A former sales executive and model, Brooke wasn't happy in her corporate job and working behind a computer was driving her crazy.

Brooke says her mum and her dad taught her "never to waste tears" and only cry when in severe pain, and she believes this is why she has grown into a strong woman.

While not a Survivor super fan, she believes she has what it takes to win and says: "I'm sociable, competitive, likeable and witty. I think I have just as much of a chance as everyone else. I had only seen about three episodes of Survivor before I applied but since being accepted, I've seen about three seasons. I think I'm probably most like Parvati from the US version, I think she was the flirt, oops!"

"My plan is to try and be everybody's friend and to put in the effort to form relationships. I usually find that I bond with guys a lot quicker than I do with women, so my time will be devoted to developing strong bonds with the girls."

Brooke thinks she will be comfortable living out in the elements as she loves animals like snakes and spiders. She is not quite so sure about how she is going to cope without her two favourite things and says: "I'm already sad thinking about not having chocolate and coffee."[1]

26, Fitness Professional — Season 1

For Brooke, there's one reason to return for Australian Survivor: All Stars – Flick. The Season 1 betrayal of besties Flick and Brooke went down in Australian Survivor history, and Brooke is back and hopes her old friend is too. Brooke said: "I've got a few reasons to come back and I want to win back my 'Challenge Beast' crown but really, I'm coming back for a Flick vs Brooke Showdown."

Moving into fitness full time since the last time she played, Brooke has been running, boxing and doing strength training to dominate in the physical challenges.

"I really want to do myself proud in the challenges again. If the vertical pole challenge is back, there's no way I'm stepping down this year – I'll go for seven hours this time.

"But I'm not going to show that too much too early. I'm planning on sitting in the middle. I don't want to be the alpha dog who is making all the big moves, nor do I want to fly under the radar. I think those two groups will be targeted. Plus, I want a tough competitor to win!"

With the physical side taken care of, she's also aware of where things went wrong last time and wants to make sure it doesn't happen again. Choosing to be the puppeteer rather than the puppet, Brooke says she only made one mistake last time. "Trusting Flick. If she's here, that won't happen again," she said.[2]

2016[]

Brooke quickly formed an alliance with Flick Egginton, Matt Tarrant, Sam Webb, and Conner Bethune, and despite losing a few challenges during the pre-swap portion of the game, they maintained control voting out Bianca Anderson at their only Tribal Council visit in that period. Brooke developed a particularly strong friendship with Flick, which made it all the more concerning when Conner told Brooke about Flick plotting against her. Brooke didn't know who to believe, and the tensions escalated to the point where both Flick and Conner became targets. Ultimately, Brooke sided with her number one ally, which in a big twist resulted in Conner and Sam getting swapped to Vavau. Saanapu inherited Tegan Haining and Nick Iadanze, with Brooke recruiting Kylie Evans to her alliance to keep the numbers.

A tribe dissolve began with Saanapu winning a crucial challenge which allowed them to select four players from either Vavau or Aganoa to join their tribe. With their selections, Brooke regained an ally in Sam, made new ones in El Rowland and Lee Carseldine, and the final member Jennah-Louise Salkeld became the easy target. This new iteration of Saanapu far outmatched Vavau physically and would win every remaining challenge until the merge. Brooke did get a chance to visit Tribal Council once on Day 29 due to a twist. Though it initially appeared Brooke was merely spying on Vavau, she then got the opportunity to kidnap one of their players so that they would join their team. Though she considered choosing Phoebe Timmins, Jonathan mentioning Phoebe's idol play at the previous Tribal Council concerned Brooke enough to go with a more seemingly harmless option in Sue Clarke.

Once the tribes merged at 13 players, Brooke's core alliance of Flick, Matt, Sam, Lee, and El was able to successfully recruit outsider Kristie Bennett to secure the numbers. Brooke won her first Immunity Necklace on Day 33, allowing her alliance to settle unfinished business and vote out the disloyal Conner, the final remaining Vavau member besides Kristie in Kate Campbell as well as other threats along the way such as Nick and Jennah-Louise. Brooke's relationship with Matt strained a few times due to personality clashes, but at the final seven, Brooke realized she needed Matt to secure her place in the final four. The original Saanapu contingent decided that with Lee immune, now was the time to strike against El who had developed a strong reputation as a player. Unfortunately for Brooke, a strong strategic game and two immunity wins also made her a threat in Flick's eyes. Flick ultimately betrayed her best friend in the game and joined the original Aganoa members in blindsiding Brooke by a 4-3 vote on Day 45.

At Final Tribal Council, Brooke contributed to Kristie's 8-1 victory over Lee for the title of Sole Survivor.

All Stars[]

Despite revenge on Flick Egginton being on Brooke's mind, the two joined the same alliance along with AK Knight, Locky Gilbert, Phoebe Timmins, David Genat, and Daisy Richardson. Brooke also became perceived as a power couple along with Locky. After she found the Vakama Hidden Immunity Idol, David convinced her to play the idol on him after Mat Rogers played his on their target Jacqui Patterson at the Day 7 Tribal Council. Brooke did so, but it was all for naught as thanks to David's scheming, Daisy was blindsided and Brooke's idol was flushed, all in one fell swoop.

Brooke's game really started to get rolling after the Tribe Switch. On this iteration of Vakama, Brooke kept three of her core allies AK, Locky, and Flick and recruited outsiders Shonee Fairfax and Harry Hills in order to pagong their common enemies. Although this alliance of six developed a strong friendship, the repeated trips to Tribal Council took their toll and threatened the likelihood that they could all make the merge. Brooke began to think again about blindsiding Flick to even the score from their original season, especially after Mat attempted to recruit her to flip in the previous vote. Brooke and Locky's power couple status also began to surface, though Harry and Shonee were also seen as a duo. Ultimately, Brooke got closure for her blindside and voted Flick out on Day 26.

Coming into the merge, Brooke attempted to bond with Zach Kozyrski about his bird sanctuary in her alliance's efforts to bring Zach and David to their side and vote out Sharn Coombes. However, Brooke was being played and Locky's blindside on Day 30 relegated Brooke to a minority position. Her prowess in individual challenges, which began in the pre-merge double elimination, kept her in the game, especially during the Exile Beach twist. That twist gave Brooke, Shonee, and AK the opportunity to flip Jacqui and blindside Zach on Day 38. With the alliances evened up 4-4, Brooke seemed set to go to rocks. However, David's idol play on Tarzan Herlaar and Sharn's offer to work with them convinced the Vakama trio to forego the rock draw and unanimously send Jacqui to the jury. Brooke's immunity streak would continue, but Sharn would go back on this plan and vote Shonee out on Day 42.

Once it was down to the final five, Brooke was left alone against the Mokuta alliance. Brooke kept the Immunity Necklace on Day 46 where she pleaded to Sharn and Moana Hope to make a move against the biggest threat left in the game: David. The women opted to vote for Tarzan instead as David stood a good chance to beat Brooke at the next challenge (along with David's idol play that night anyway). This frustrated Brooke, and ultimately David did beat Brooke the next day. That would give the Mokuta alliance the opportunity they needed to vote out Brooke on Day 47.

Brooke awarded David's gameplay with her jury vote at Final Tribal Council.
