And Then There Were Four is the season finale of Survivor: The Amazon.

Story[]

Day 37[]

Rob Cesternino, Matthew von Ertfelda, and Butch Lockley make a pact to be the Final 3, but when Jenna Morasca wins individual immunity, the pact must be broken. Jenna talks to Butch about voting Rob out due to his untrustworthiness, but she and Matthew agree they have a better chance to beat Rob, and the three of them discuss voting out Butch, due to him not playing the game enough to get to the final 4. The plan worked and Butch was voted out in a 3-1 vote over Rob.

Day 38[]

Jenna, Rob, and Matthew are given a scale to see how much weight they have lost over the past 38 days.

S6 matthew t
Matthew
The scale was in kilos, and one kilo is 2.2 pounds, so I weighed myself in kilos and converted back to pounds. I realized that my weight has gone from 173 to 148, and if I've lost 28 pounds, I think that I have lost most of the fat on my body and that, um, I'm right now losing muscle.
S6 rob t
Rob
Basically, over the last 38 days, my body has just deteriorated, and…and turned against itself. I mean, I've lost almost a pound a day for 38 days.
S6 jenna t
Jenna
I started at 118 pounds, and I weigh 99, so that is a lot of weight to lose

The Immunity Challenge took place at Tribal Council, where Jenna would win her fourth Individual Immunity Challenge leaving Rob and Matthew at the mercy of Jenna. She eliminated Rob who became the last jury member, taking Matthew to the Final Two.

Day 39[]

Matthew and Jenna mark Day 39 on the tree and reflect on their time being on Survivor. They paint the names of their 14 former contestants that have been voted off on a box in order from first to last, reminiscing about meeting all of them throughout the season. As Matthew and Jenna head to Final Tribal Council in a big boat, the jury share their thoughts on who might get their vote.

S6 jenna t
Jenna
It's over, it's out of our hands. We have done all we can do. The jury will come back tonight with questions. That's kind of, like, our last chance to…really cement what we feel about ourselves and them one last time to the jury. I do feel like the m-majority of the jury probably already has their decision made by the time they come—came there. I would, you know, um, but it's out of our hands. It's really out of our hands right now.
S6 rob t
Rob
This game began as a battle of the sexes, and in the end, it shall be as it was in the beginning: a man versus a woman. I think both of them have played this game dishonest, and both of them claim to be honest players who've played this game with integrity. Loyalty is out the window at this point. It's who did the best job to outwit, outplay, and outlast. Is it Jenna, or is it Matt? I wish there was a choice 'C: None of the above', but there isn't.
S6 christy t
Christy
Jenna is a very, determined, very strong woman. I mean, she made it all the way. Go, girl! Matt is a very sincere and very generous, very caring person that…everyone likes if you get to know him.
S6 alex t
Alex
The response that I'm really looking for is an honest response. We know what answers we want to hear, we know what the honest answer is. I just want to know who's honest enough to say it. I want the person to…up there to say, 'I played the game, I came here to kick ass, I kicked ass, and that's all there was to it. You don't like it, you should have played better'.
S6 heidi t
Heidi
Tonight's choice will be very easy for me. Jenna is…She's my number one hero. I just…I totally, completely adore her. And, uh, then you've got Matt, who has played the game based on his 'honesty' values. And, uh, sorry, Matt, it's just…it's just not working for you.
S6 butch t
Butch
Matt is the one that contributed the most. Matt is the one that, um, has done more for everybody, and Matt would be the one more deserving than Jenna.
S6 deena t
Deena
You are dealing with two completely different personalities between Matt and Jenna. Matt was the workhouse; Jenna was the sex goddess; and the two of them used their abilities to their advantage. Matt worked his way to the top, Jenna…played her way to the top.
S6 dave t

It is amazing at Tribal Council to kind of look at all the bull that people throw out. It isn't friendship, it isn't honesty and integrity that's got them to this position. It's the fact that other people have kind of pulled them along. I think my vote is going to be based upon their answer to my question tonight. I want them to think and give an intelligent answer and, uh…and then see if…if they start…start talking out of their ass again.

At Final Tribal, Jenna keeps her opening statement brief by claiming they knew enough about her to make an educated decision and believes she played the game morally. Matthew said he provided for the tribe by fishing and showing his dedication to the tribe, and played the game honorably and with integrity throughout.

Some of the jurors do not want either of them to use the words honesty and integrity to describe their games, and instead, admit when and if they lied at all over the course of the game. Jenna admits she lied to Deena about who she was voting for at that tribal council, feeling it was the better move to vote out Deena instead of Alex. Matthew admits he lied, especially to Roger Sexton as part of an alliance strategy, and deceived Alex to save himself. When Rob asks why they think the other person does not deserve to be in the final 2, Matthew talked about Jenna not contributing around camp and that she wanted to give up a few times. Jenna did not believe Matthew played the game from the beginning and tagged along at the end of an alliance. Jenna admits her only regret was putting her trust in those she could not trust. and Matthew admits his regret was his naïveté and his decision to support Ryan Aiken's alliance and voting strategy that made people view him as a threat. When asked who on the jury they think is more deserving to be sitting in the final 2, Matthew and Jenna both agree that Rob is as deserving as them due to his overall strategic gameplay and how well he knew the game. When Christy asked Jenna what she meant when she described herself as having a handicap, Jenna clarified that as a 21-year-old swimsuit model, she was worried people would automatically judge her as someone not tough or smart enough to think for themselves.

Ultimately, Jenna would win the title of Sole Survivor over Matthew in a 6-1 vote.

Challenges[]

Challenge: Braille Maze
Blindfolded, the final four must move through a maze using guideposts for assistance, searching for four medallions representing earth, air, fire, and water. First to get all four medallions and return to the center wins.
Winner: Jenna Morasca

Challenge: Will Power
Prior to the challenge, the three remaining contestants must build and decorate a headdress for themselves. At Tribal Council, they have to stand on a tiny plank holding the headdress (now attached by beads to a collar around their necks) above their head for as long as possible.
Winner: Jenna Morasca

(voting against Butch) I don't think all the firewood in the forest is going to keep your torch lit tonight, buddy. Nice game.
S6 butch t
Butch
(voting against Rob) Rob, this is nothing against you personally. But right now I know that you're voting for me, and I'm voting for you just because I hope somebody else votes against you for a tie vote. That's my only salvation at this time. I want to wish you the very best. You're a real good kid. Hopefully, I'll be around to maybe see you in a few days.
S6 matthew t
Matthew
(voting against Butch) He's a great guy. I hate to do this. He's probably my best friend among the tribe members. Unfortunately, my hands are tied. I have no choice. I wish him all the best.
S6 jenna t
Jenna
(voting against Butch) I'm voting for you, Butch, because I don't feel like you've played the game up until this point, and it's too little too late, and I've worked so hard on gameplay, and so have the other people to let you get farther without playing.

Final Words[]

S6 butch bw
Butch
I have just experienced an adventure of a lifetime. I will never forget these 37 days. I feel I've played the game hard and I played it well. The sign that I took, I mean it when I say, 'Believe in yourself'. You can do things if you go out and set your goals and have your dreams, and then go out and do 'em. Look at me, I made it to Survivor.

(voting against Rob) I'm voting for you, Rob, because you dropped out of our alliance at the very beginning and I can never forget that, and I can't let you get this far after you did that to me. I think you played the game better than anyone else here, but you still dogged me.

Well, what can I say? 38 days out here in the Amazon. I have, honestly, no complaints. I wouldn't change one thing about how I played the game. The most tremendous time of my entire life. I said I wasn't going to stop smiling until they put my torch out, and you know what? I'm still smiling.

(voting for Matthew) Congratulations to both. I'm very proud to have known both of you. But tonight, the true Survivor is Matthew. And Matthew, I believe you said it all in your opening statement. I also appreciate your honesty, that you did lie, that you did deceive. It meant a lot to me. Congratulations to both, but Matthew, you are the true Survivor of Survivor 6.
S6 heidi t
Heidi
(voting for Jenna) Jenna, I'm voting for you tonight because I adore you. I love you. You played the game hard, but more importantly, you represented someone that I could trust and respect in the most adverse circumstances. Good luck, girl.
S6 rob t
Rob
(voting for Jenna) You did show here that you have the will and the determination it took to get to the final two, and I'll give credit where credit is due--that there are only two players in this entire game that I didn't vote off.
