As the two tribes prepared for the upcoming merge, Joel was blindisded when he was the next to be voted off. When Gervase had flippantly - and derogatorily - compared women to cows, Joel laughed too hard at the joke and ended up taking the heat. When it came time to vote, the enraged Pagong women glady voted Joel off the island.
