Revamping Episode Numbers

We will be meeting halfway with the 500th episode claim during the Game Changers premiere. Two-parters will be dealt with utmost care.

  • Reunion shows and America's Tribal Council are now included in the count, and they will be reflected in episode list template.
  • If the episode only has one title but covers two cycles (Gabon/Cagayan/Game Changers premiere, and Million Dollar Gamble episode in MvG), both cycles are counted as one episode.
  • The only exemption to this is the Outcast two-parter episode, since both episodes were aired separately.
  • Is the case of San Juan del Sur (Episodes 10/11) and Worlds Apart (Episodes 3/4) which aired two separate episodes with completely different episode titles, they are counted separately.
  • These changes puts our episode count to 504 (as of the latest episode title announcement of Game Changers, Dirty Deed). Because the Outcast arc was aired in two separate weeks while the rest of two-parters were not, the Game Changers premiere was actually the 501st episode.
  • Season finale pages must end with the announcement of the winner. Reunion show pages must contain every information thereafter.

Preview for next week says "back to back new episodes".

As long as they don't have separate titles, they still count as one, except if they are aired in two separate weeks. If they can't seem to standardize rules on episode counts, we should.

I still feel this is being done to place the premiere as 500, rather than in a legitimate attempt to make numbering rules. The preview clearly states these are two episodes.

I strongly believe we take the premiere as a mere benchmark. Heck, I can't make the premiere to be 500 exactly because of the Outcast arc, even with the 2-parter premieres conjoined as one.

If "What the...?" is 2 episodes, "Million Dollar Gamble" is 1 episode, and Survivor: America's Tribal Council is not counted (or if all three count as 1 episode) then the count post-MvGX is 499, making the Game Changers premiere 500.

You are missing the Gabon and Cagayan premieres.

Also, America's Tribal Council is counted as a second reunion show of All-Stars, and reunions are now part of the count.

I took those into account, actually. The old count was as follows:

  • 33 seasons with approximately 14 non-recap episodes each (462)
  • plus one extra episode in All-Stars (463)
  • minus one episode for each season with 13 non-recap episodes (455)
  • plus 14 recap episodes (469)

Now, adjusting to the new count:

  • old count (469)
  • plus 34 reunions, including America's Tribal Council (503)
  • minus second half of Gabon and Cagayan premieres (501)
  • minus second half of "Million Dollar Gamble" (500)

To get to 499, they have to cut either "What the...? (Part 2)" or America's Tribal Council. I'm willing to bet that they excluded ATC, because they already didn't count the other post-reunion "reunions".

Check your pm now, Burkey.

It is not only Dalton (or Rob). As I said, when it was aired in the Philippines, "Million Dollar Gamble" was aired as 2 separate episodes (with PoS and NToS spiels and credits). That means it was produced as 2 separate episodes, and was edited in a way for the US telecast as a single one. Maybe if they do release a DVD entry about it, I say it is treated as separate episode.

P.S. You can just ask someone else to edit it if you don't want to, you know.
